Whenever you use a computer, you are simply observing a pattern of lights and sounds. When you use a keyboard, you are just pushing buttons to make the pattern of lights and sounds more favorable. Now think about how much time you've spent on your computer.
You now realize that books are simply dried pulp laid into sheets, with generic, repeating characters printed on them using fluids. How many hours have you spent reading books?
Its not just the patterns, fluids, lights or character, its what those characters mean when placed in a certain order, the human brain takes note of this and gives out messages explaining what they mean through pictures that you have seen or other words you have learnt throughout your life.
These words that once meant nothing to you, but strangely can be imprinted in your mind due to what you have learnt over the years of your young life. If you got taught these words, or different words in a completely different order, with completely different associations, only then would they mean nothing and be jumbled.
This also applies to everything we see, hear, touch, smell and taste.
I absolutely agree, but what I was trying to do was draw a parallel between books and computers. I was trying to imply that both of them can sound pointless when bathed in a certain light.
If time travel were possible someone would have stopped Hitler from coming to power. Also, time travel results in contradictions. If someone goes back in time to stop Hitler from rising to power, the time traveler would never have heard of Hitler so he would have never gone back in time to stop him from rising to power. So then Hitler would rise to power so the time traveler would go back in time to stop him. So Hitler both would and would not rise to power, and the time traveler both would and would not have prevented him from coming to power, which is absurd.

You arn't creating matter. You are transporting existing matter through some manner to another point in time. You could be using a wormhole or perhaps bending a dimension.
Not possible to time travel. Because you would be creating an alternate universe in so doing just by even sending an apple back in time. This would mean that you are creating matter, and as my science teacher told me, you can not create nor destroy matter. So in a science-fiction reality then yea it's "possible". However like I said before Time traveling would have to create a similar universe for any of it to be possible, and any action that is taken in that universe then spawns countless numbers of similar universes all unique but yet slightly different.
A time traveling Nazi would have installed a leader who would have lead Germany to victory in World War 2. Besides time travel results in contradictions.
Unless that's what the timetravelling Nazis want you to think, and the whole Hitler incident was part of their overall plan.
[sub]Also I'm aware that time travel to the past is improbable... but if Einstein's universe is accurate, travelling to the future is possible but infeasible[/sub] ^.^
um....I wasn't looking down at America. There are things about America I love. I'm just say that he is right with that he says. I'm not smart because I trash America, I'm smart because I dont'.
Fine, being condescending isn't cool. I get tired of this crap after a while. Little jokes like cash-in of duty or M$ put into the most irrelevant thing just to work as a 'take that' have really been bothering me lately. Maybe I'm just seeing that in your post because I've seen it so many times before, but its just so freaking annoying looking.
Yeah, I know what you mean. I didn't mean to make it sound like I was bad mouthing America, I was just saying that like every country, its got some problems. Sorry about the misunderstanding man.

People assume that time is a strict progression of cause to effect, but actually from a non-linear, non-subjective viewpoint, it's more like a big ball of wibbly-wobbly, timey-wimey... stuff.
Hold down Alt, then on your number pad, the one on the right side, mind you, type in 138. Release Alt. Yay! It's one of those little things that makes doing online spanish homework that much easier. I still despise spanish though..
Shocking truths.. Uhh.. Having trouble thinking of 'shocking' and not 'bleak.' Hm..too much trouble.
Either time travel is impossible or the many universes theory is correct, because if time travel were possible, we'd already know, because time travelers would already have come back and proved it.

There's no evidence that free will exists. It's an illusion, because everything in the Universe is bound by the laws of physics - even chemistry in your own brain.
No, what we experience every day is a strict progression of events, each one ultimately causing the next, and each of those events is regulated by the laws of physics. Essentially, life is just one enormous series of multiple-choice questions with all but one answere crossed out. Bow before my logic! BOW!!! No...curtsy
Nah, I'm just fuckin' with ya. There's a kind of logic to that, true, but it's loose at best. No, constrained as it is by the limits of physics and curcumstance, free will does exist.

People are naturally inclined to take a black/white approach to any serious question they face. For example, most people have decided whether they are theist are atheist. The rest don't want to get into it because they realise there are arguments for or against and they don't feel like they can sit on the fence but they don't want to be one or the other either. This is why people will take in all arguiments which agree with their view and ignore all others, because they can't handle the fact that they might be wrong and don't consider that there might be some middle ground. Also, people often make the assumption that if you believe something, especially if you went to uni or something on the subject, then if you can't answer something, your entire concept is false.
The notion that the middle-road is by default the correct one is actually a logical fallacy (as is the idea that there being two possible options means the odds are 50-50).
I didn't mean that the middle road is always right however, it is often closer to the truth than going one way or another. I simply meant that going one way or another is the most common thing people do and they then warp everything they hear on the subject to fit their belief which, when you think about it, is logically insane. By listening to both sides of the argument and considering all the facts in their entirety, you have a better chance of finding out which side is the right one or if the right side is somewhere in the middle. However, most people are so egotistical that they subconciously ignore anything which would counter their arguments or they just switch sides every now and then without a second thought.
