Okay, the stuff with DRM isn't really relevant to me, so I don't want to get into an argument about that, when there's an even better reason to want to slap someone at Apple silly.

Did you ever click on a link from a music website and get directed to the itunes store, only to receive the delightful message that "this song isn't available in the U.S store"? I just did, and it pissed the hell out of me. That wasn't the worst part. The worst part is there's *no solution*. If I want to pay for this music, it seems I have to fly to the bloody U.K. So, instead I'm forced to go without, or steal it.

That seems unfortunate, not only for me (who doesn't like stealing) but also for the musician who's missing out on money I would otherwise pay.

Does anyone know of a solution I'm missing?

I hated iTunes a long time ago. Why the hell can't I just drag drop files into a playlist? Stupid.. Syncing is the worst thing ever.

The ipod is great, itunes itself though is a pain. It takes ages to be able to learn how to use it properly, and not being able to take music off an ipod (unless you download programs to do so, which I did very quickly) is ridiculous in this day and age. I can see why you would be very annoyed with it.

Who ever thought of making iTunes so inconvenient needs to have all the iPods in the world shoved up his ass.

I dont use iTunes. I might have to now though, due to the fact that my youtube hacking isnt going so well. I really hate the prospect of going back to iTunes, being the huge techno and trance freak that I am, because iTunes doesnt deem it necessary to carry the music I love

I hate the fact that they dont let you simply, oh i dunno, send a couple of songs around, it seems ridiculous to me that the onyl way i can tell people about music who im not in direct contact with is that they have to go through several other steps, simply to get one song they might not like. When Itunes has got to the point where, if im right, it has stronger encryption on its music than amazon has on its payment that seems to be the values of a scewed society to me...

Youtube "hacking"? Do yourself a favor, and just toss out your keyboard now. If you think that downloading music from Youtube is "hacking", then you clearly have nothing to contribute to the rest of the internet. Plz leave.

1. You can drag and drop with itunes.

2. itunes does kind of suck but it's ok once you learn how to use it. People don't even try to learn how to use it before they write it off as useless.

Of all the reasons to hate iTunes, why do you pick this one? Just download the music yourself, or borrow it from friends if you really have a strong moral opposition (can't fathom why you would though).

That's fair. My problem isn't so much that I can't get it anywhere, it's that I can't get it anywhere *legally*. Maybe I'm a spoiled American (in fact, I probably am a spoiled American), but it seems like there must be a better system than one that makes it easier to pirate a song than buy it legally.

Solution. Amazon.com that was easy. Really if you can't buy the whole song why not just buy the whole album from somewhere?
Oh, this piss anyone else off that iTunes will sometimes only give out part of the album?

Apple seemed to have found a winning formula when they made the iTunes Music Store. It's a program that automates everything (so it could be more readily accessed by those less technologically literate), and provides a good automated store to just plug in credit card and get music instantly. It would automatically be added to your Library, as well.

The problem with automation is that it can provide too strict a limitation on the end-user. For example, buying a foreign album. Part of my distaste for iTunes comes from the fact that it's so highly structured, leaves very little room for variety, formerly applied DRM, made iPods such an exclusive mess to deal with, and having to repair it for my father when it broke. Not to mention being a grievous RAM-hog.

As far as a solution goes, you could likely do better hunting down the album via third parties like Amazon. I believe their MP3 department is capable of installing directly to iTunes as well.

Whatever the case, good luck.
