So how long does it take to cross the bridge from Australia to NZ?
Depends on whether you get a running start or not. Also, if you're an American, you must obviously be fat, so it will take longer on foot. [http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/SarcasmMode]

Do you like Flight of the Mudkipz?
I liek mudkipz on principle.

Whats your opinion on Australians in general?
In my mind, raucous and obnoxious. In practice, no worse than your average New Zealander. Except for their highway patrol cops, who are somehow even bigger assholes than ours. Somewhat less generous towards their indigenous peoples too.

What do you think about kiwis?
Well, I've already covered the bird, so I'll assume you mean my fellow countrymen. Three words: tall poppy syndrome. Plus we can be quite apathetic.

Also, New Zealanders on the whole seem to have a very rose-tinted view of their individual driving abilities.

Any comment on your country's tough immigration policies?
Well, you've nailed the one element of my country's legislation that I have the least experience with, for obvious reasons.

Personally I'm not opposed to strict immigration laws, but we have a serious problem in that a lot more intelligent and educated people are leaving the country than are coming in.

Well, I know you're a genuine New Zealander, at least ;)

See, that right there just won my undying allegiance.

In all seriousness, if you were given a choice to move anywhere in the world and never go back to NZ, would you do it?

Yes. I do actually like my country, but I'd still trade it for generally cheaper shipping and better internet. Not being facetious, either; I love videogames, books, movies, etc. New Zealand just means these hobbies are more expensive.

However, there's one thing I really enjoy here, as a motorcyclist: it's easy to find fun driving/riding roads without having to go far. I'd have to think long and hard about where I was moving to.

Hmm...

Are there any phrases that you use fairly often in casual conversation that are fairly unique to the area? Or is this one of those kind of things that you wouldn't even think about until confronted with someone that would have no idea what you're talking about.

See, sitting here right now I can't even think of any terms that I use that would confuse people from other countries. I'm sure I have them, but I can't conjure one at will like this.

Who is the greatest ever New Zealander?

[small]hint hint, it's Bruno Lawrence isn't it?[/small]

How do you, as a 21st century New Zealander, feel about Trevor Chappell?

Have you seen Goodbye Pork Pie?

Hmmm.

There's not many phrases that spring to mind; usually it's a word that doesn't carry the same meaning. Like when I refer to the boot of a car while talking to American friends, then have to clarify that I mean the trunk.

Also, we're masters of the ambiguous reply:

Q: Whaddya reckon?
A: Yeah, nah, mate.

Ernest Rutherford. Or Marton Csokas.

It's about time to let bygones be bygones.

Have you seen Goodbye Pork Pie?
No :(

Oooh...curious now.

You may not like the bird, but what do you think of the fruit?

The fruit is great, but the regular variety is a little acidic. I prefer gold kiwifruit.
