What is the average airspeed velocity of an unladen migratory European Swallow flying northwest with a windspeed of 3.7 MPH south?
I dont know! I feel bad! Well velocity is a scalar quantity of speed and distance.... so i'm going to say 18m/s
actually, speed is a scalar quantity, and velocity is a vector quantity.
CURSE YOU MR. LEES!! CURSE YOU TOO HELL! (My physics teacher taught us all wrong...again....)
^^ think of it as this: if you jump back and forth real fast (let's say x=0 y=0 to x=1 y=0 then back to x=0 y=0), then your speed would be 0 (because speed can be negative so first jump is +1 and the next jump is -1 equalling to 0), while with your velocity would be 2 (since it's both +1).
hope it's not too confusing, because it's a good way too remember the difference ^^
