Assasins creed 2 came out this year, what are you thoughts escapist? I thought it seemed a touch gimmicky and a bit less immersive than the first, though the lack of repeating side missions was great

It's story was definitely less immersive.

But I think they could have done a bit better on the side missions.

But it was undeniably good.

I shall sum up my experience!

"This is kinda fun. Better gameplay, although a little lacking in atmosphere, but still. Oh, I'm going to go to Rome ey? OK then, off we-WHAT THE FUCK JUST HAPPENED!?"

And from that point on, AC2 was a bad game.

Leaps and bounds beyond the first AC, which was also a fantastic game. I really enjoyed AC2, and Im glad I got it. Im going to be spending a lot of time with that game. Really superb job from Ubisoft.

I think... You are totally, and utterly, wrong.

Much more immersive, the story developed a lot better (AND THEY HAVE THE BALLS TO JUST TELL THE STORY THEY BLOODY WANT TO!), the characters were more interesting and the side-quest activities were much better integrated - and I really wanted to do them all(which I did).

Still not got all those feathers though.

I agree 100% with this. It's a great game, and it's probably my game-of-the-year.

It did go abit looney tunes on us at the end with the divine, the other divine, it not being divine and dildos instead of guns. Though otherwise i found the story, location, characters much better than the original.

I rented it for the weekend and enjoyed it(got to sequence 10) even though side missions that involve finding the targets with eagle vision go between piss easy to hard as fuck.

I hated the whole "tail this guy unseen while he does his errands all over Venice"

Beyond that, great. Finished it Friday and was suitably stunned.

I'm pretty happy with it. I hated the first game after the first major assassination, because the rest of the title was just so horribly repetitive. Just like everyone has said, Assassin's Creed 2 fixed all that, and its a much better game because of it. I find that Ezio is much more likable than Altair (who just came off as being really obnoxious).

The villa development mini-game is fun, although expensive, and there might be a few too many of the "Get X of Feathers/Codex/Flags" mini-games, but again - Assassin's Creed 2 is what the first game should have been.

I thought it was great. I did have a few issues with the controls, but the story, characters and mission structure were all so much better I could easily forgive it. I had heaps of fun with the game, might even play it again *shocked faces all round*.

Great game, the only problem I had is it wasn't much of a challenge, but other then that it is a great game.
