Found this video when browsing E3 videos yesterday
http://www.gametrailers.com/video/e3-09-assassins-creed/50252
(there is another video related to it without commentary if you prefer)

Looks like the game is really shaping up well to me. Gaurds are no longer blind to hide spots and you no longer carry an armoury of weapons at all times - you have to steal them from enemy hands. This actually makes you a half subtle assassin this time around.

It also seems to me that the mission shown isn't a true assassination target and instead just a side mission hopefully, meaning perhaps all the pickpocket/eavesdrop crap will be replaced with assassinations.

I am really loving the weapons and gadgets shown in the video - 30 different types of weapon in the full game, smoke bombs, veichle sections, dual hidden blades and (from what seems to be the games opening cinematic trailer http://www.gametrailers.com/video/e3-09-assassins-creed/50141 ) a hidden pistol for those hard to reach targets.

What I'm most intrested in though is how Leonardo Da Vinci is being roped into this assassin background, as in the video the commentator says he is one of Enzio's friends and creates gadgets for you (perhaps he's like Q from 007 movies).

And THANK GOD they gave the ability to swim in this one - I was so sick of drowning in the Jerusalem sewers in the first Assassin's Creed.

So how do you guys think the game is shaping up and what do you think should/shouldn't be in it?

Of course it looks like it's going to be awesome!
I'm glad that they're addressing all of the issues with the first one. My hope is that there possibly could be some lancing on horseback action. That would be sweet.

This game will be incredible. The first ones only flaw was being too repetitive, and once they remove that aspect it will be even better.

One of the only things that causes premature ejaculation is this trailer.

Just sayin'.

This game is going to be incredibly awesome! I'm looking forward to it so much!

But I have a dilemma, you see, Modern Warfare 2 comes out 7 days before and I'll be buying that also, Where am I going to scrape another $120 from in 7 days? o_O'

I think this looks really good, hopefully they will lern their lesson from the first one and actually make the bits other that fighting a million guards intersting! I'll probably be getting this but what do they mean by 'holiday'? Is that summer holidays, Christmas holidays, what?

I've never played AC1 so someone enlighten me here.
How big a part of the game is combat? cause the trailer made it look like semi-cutscenes when you killed someone.

The combat is quite heavy but relies on a counter-attack system where if you time the counter right you will perform a flashy move to kill the enemy or heavily damage the tougher enemies. It makes the combat quite cinematic and less based on memorising combos etc.

Combat is mainly timing. As already said theres counters if you attack when they do, but you can also build up combos. The majority of deaths are finishing moves, so it looks awesome.

Why a vehicle section? Ugh. Except for that, do want. It shall be pre-ordered at earliest convenience.

Yeah not the best thing, but if they do decide to take the 3rd game into Desmond's time I'm guessing veichle sections would be included since the can't hold the whole game in the Abstergo building

this looks absolutely amazing. The double hidden blades are simply genius! This is looking so promising.

This game looks great, even better than the first! (Better at the concept of the first game)
