Why not WW2 where you are trapped in france, a la the Saboteur, and you need to keep Hitler from getting him some more eden? (since he already would have the Lance of Longinus)
that would be pretty epic.

As long as I can keep my double ninja wrist blades, I'm happy.

Also can I second the Victorian England idea? I'm sure you could work Jack the Ripper into the plot somehow.

And can they make it so Lucy isn't dead? I really like Kristen Bell :(

No thanks, actually. Guns in Assassins Creed give me this terrible suspicion that it will become a shooter, and that wonderful "being an assassin" feeling will disappear. Not sure how they're going to play around with Desmond appropriately in the next one, but that's the story I'm looking to hear. He knows how to jump, how to run, how to use eagle vision and understand context, so it's not like he really needs any further instructions from ancestors. But side games could always explore different times, with ease.

it will not work i can say hat at least
you see you cant have a good assasians game with guns because if you have guns then basic combat will just be a bullet fest and if you try to make he Player character only have swords then it's just not realistic

Assassin's Creed will not work AT all in a situation including guns. Iknow there's a gun in the second and Brotherhood but they're not exactly great. The whole point of assassination in these games is stealth and actual close combat skills. Otherwise there would have been no point building up these skills in the other 3 games if you just end up shooting and bombing people in the this one.

I think it'd be funny how utterly useless the assassins free running would be in the middle of No_Mans_Land, with machine guns and artillery shelling him.
Nuh uh!

He can jump in craters, over barbed wire, through trenches, and then get shot.

Agreed. The most they can go is 1700's/1800's. They could make a great game in this era set against The Peninsular War.

I'd like to see the late victorian era, with Nikola Tesla replacing Da Vinci as your tech support, can you imagine what you could do with half of the stuff tesla made

damn

England is a no go the Catholic Church had no power no Catholic Church no reasonable back drop for Templars. They also can't proceed too far without vastly altering gameplay. However the French Revolution might work they could work the Templars in as trying to save Catholicism and it would be cool to see what they would do with Robespierre.

I always wanted an assassins creed gain in the russian revolution, with rasputin and all that.
This would work really well I think - Russia never really kicked off as an industrial giant until the communists took over, so the problem of modern(ish) firearms would never really come into play, and you could have the assassins at the head of the bolshevic revolution... That would be badass.

Assassin's Creed with the focus on guns.... no thank you.
I don't know maybe it can work, I feel the end fight to Assassins creed 2 might have been more dramatic if the Templar's actually used guns and you had to use your free running skills and shadows to win.

Besides you already have guns kind of in the last two releases... maybe it will help the stealth focus.

I know right? and it already has conspiracy thoery stuff, so it'd be perfect.

There's even an assassins creed comic in the time period.

I would very much like to see how that would work, WW1 is too unexplored in games. I also think periods like Feudal Japan or the American Civil war aould work well to.

But the gun mechanic was lame and required absolutely no skill or reaction time whatsoever. At least the melee combat requires some motor skills.
