I agree with you about not having trouble following any of the Saints row previous games, but I watched a video calledDaystar Clarion said:AC3 is a bloated mess and a step backwards in the series, at least for me anyway, if you've never played any of the other games, don't bother because the story will leave you confused.
SRTT is fun and silly, but with no real substance, however, that also means there's not really anything that stops you from being able to jump right in and enjoy despite never playing the prequels.
I never played of the Saints Row games before Third, and I had no trouble following any of it.
Well it's up to you, I've personally completed every AC game (excluding handheld titles) except for AC3, I thought it was that bad.Superland said:I agree with you about not having trouble following any of the Saints row previous games, but I watched a video calledDaystar Clarion said:AC3 is a bloated mess and a step backwards in the series, at least for me anyway, if you've never played any of the other games, don't bother because the story will leave you confused.

"Assassin's creed in 5 minutes" which explained me about the Assassin's creed story from AC1 to AC Revelations. You think I should still not buy the 3rd one?

Personally, I think the highlight of the series is AC2 and Brotherhood, you should be able to get both of them very cheap now.
No problemSuperland said:First, Thanks for you help!Daystar Clarion said:Well it's up to you, I've personally completed every AC game (excluding handheld titles) except for AC3, I thought it was that bad.Superland said:I agree with you about not having trouble following any of the Saints row previous games, but I watched a video calledDaystar Clarion said:AC3 is a bloated mess and a step backwards in the series, at least for me anyway, if you've never played any of the other games, don't bother because the story will leave you confused.

Second, You played every AC game except the AC3, So you probably understand the story well. so with knowing the story well, which game would u choose? AC3 or SRTT?
SRTT sounds so much fun, tho AC3 sounds pretty more interesting about its story, tho I think i've had enough of those complicated stories.shrekfan246 said:Saints Row: The Third. Though I will qualify that it depends on what you want and are expecting to get.
I liked Assassin's Creed III, it was the first game in the series to keep me interested in finishing the story since Assassin's Creed II, but it was also needlessly bloated with pointless fluff, glitchy and buggy out the ass, optimized like shit for PCs, and somehow had a worse control scheme than all of the previous games. I loved the wilderness aspect of the new environment, but there was far too little parkouring through trees and the cities didn't have the same scale as the previous games, so a lot of people felt unimpressed by that as well.
Saints Row, on the other hand, I just picked up about a week ago during the Steam Sale and have put 30 hours into it and finished it 98% already (which is rare for me, especially in open-world games; For reference, by the time I had completed AC3 my completion percent was only a little over 50%). Yeah, it's dumb, it's shallow, it's juvenile, but it's wacky and silly and that kept it interesting to me. Also the mechanics are just great. Glitches aside, it has some of the best feeling cars I've used in a video game, and the shooting is pretty fun with only the smallest hint of auto-aim. Also mods, though only a few really have any substance to them (this is of course assuming you're planning on playing on PC, which I'm assuming because both games are currently on sale). Also character customization. My character was basically a crazy female Russian Nightwing/Batman/Punisher combination, though with a bit more pointless killing, obviously.
If you want some depth from the story of whatever you're going to play, you should look elsewhere than Saints Row: The Third. Even Saints Row 2 has far more. But if you're just looking for a plain old good time and you like non-cover-based third-person shooting? Saints Row gets my vote.
If this is Steam Sales we're talking about and you do check out SRTT, I would recommend picking up The Full Package with all of the DLC. A lot of it is pointless clothing or a few cars or something, but it comes with the three mission packs as well, which add a bit more variety to the game and it's a great value at 75% off.Superland said:SRTT sounds so much fun, tho AC3 sounds pretty more interesting about its story, tho I think i've had enough of those complicated storys.

I'm not gonna play it on PC, I'm a PS3 gamer.shrekfan246 said:If this is Steam Sales we're talking about and you do check out SRTT, I would recommend picking up The Full Package with all of the DLC. In that case, the DLC I would recommend if any at all are the "Trouble With Clones", "Genkibowl VII", and "Gangstas in Space" mission DLCs and the "Nyte Blade" clothing/vehicle pack (though that one is just my personal preference, because the Nyte Blade DLC car has been my most-used vehicle throughout the game). Everything else is pretty useless in my opinion.Superland said:I'm not gonna play it on PC, I'm a PS3 gamer.shrekfan246 said:If this is Steam Sales we're talking about and you do check out SRTT, I would recommend picking up The Full Package with all of the DLC. I finish GTA IV already, and sleeping dogs's campaign is like 7 hours or so.mohit9206 said:I will say get Assassin's Creed 3.Ive played both and i will give ac3 a 7 while SR3 was a 5 at best.Basically SR3 was too over the top for me.I liked GTA4 and Sleeping Dogs much more. Also AC3 is nowhere near as bad as some make it out to be.Its a good game sure it has its flaws and bugs but in the end AC3 good outweigh its flaws so i suggest you get AC3.
Well damn, I'll tell that to the vehicle team.shrekfan246 said:Glitches aside, it has some of the best feeling cars I've used in a video game
To be a little more specific, I really like the handling of the faster cars. A lot of games make them far too sensitive or not sensitive enough, especially while slamming the brake for drifting, but Saints Row: The Third hits a great middle ground to me.ThriKreen said:Well damn, I'll tell that to the vehicle team.shrekfan246 said:Glitches aside, it has some of the best feeling cars I've used in a video game
The entire vehicle system was revamped from SR2 to SR3, we put a lot of work into handling, physics, customization and pimping, and of course, DESTRUCTION.shrekfan246 said:To be a little more specific, I really like the handling of the faster cars. And outfitting a car with upgraded durability so you can barrel through oncoming traffic never becomes not awesome.![]()

Wouldn't that imply Saints Row 3 came before 1 & 2?
