The whole "soft science" aspect of AC completely ruined the game for me. So I was thinking, what if they re-released a version of the game, but completely edited out all the ridiculous "DNA video game" scenes and aspects (and perhaps added Oblivion style travel), would it sell?

It wouldn't have made a difference, this will explain more. [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/articles/view/issues/issue_96/537-Vision-Doesnt-Sell-Copies]

I didn't think the sci-fi part of Assassin's Creed was bad at all, it was interesting enough to make me finish the game and made the gameplay elements work really well.

I also thought the sci-fi was funny. However, upon replaying the game to get the "talking to Lucy" achievement, I was very frustrated over this "no one can skip our cut scenes" thing the creators had. In fact, I guess a version where you can skip the cut scenes would also have solved the problem for you Zenmonkey. Although, Assassins Creed wouldn't be the same if you hadn't seen all the cut scenes as they were a big part of the game.

I dont know If it werent for the story Past/present the game woulda had been boring as hell.

Its the same thing over and over again... Get to guild, check who to kill, go down the *** mountain all over again.../ go to the assasin bureau/ wait the guy is taking forever just to tell one lead/ find lead/ go back to bureau/kill the guy/listen to his speech/ run (the fun part)/ then do it all over again..
