So, as the title states, a youtube user by the username of "hamps19" has made what may possibly be the best amateur AMV ever. Yes, I am aware that AMV stands for Anime Music Video, but VGMV doesn't have the same ring to it.

Anyway, he used the song "Beautiful Lies," hence the name of the AMV, AC and ACII, and was even interviewed by Gabe Graziani (I think I just horribly butchered his last name), the community developer for ACB. That's how stunning it was; the people who make the games loved the video, and the people who own the rights to the song liked it as well.

.

Edit: Yes, this is better than that Super Mario Galaxy AMV made by Jimlad, set to Queen. That's how good this one is.

That was bloody brilliant.

I can't imagine the amount of effort needed to get the characters to overlap just right.

Thanks for posting this.

It's nice I gues, but that gratuitous slow motion starts to wear thin after a while.

Anyway, it can't be the best AMV ever because there's this:

...Well, it was hilarious... and creepy, but mostly hilarious.

Eh, going by my general loathing of the game and franchise I don't think I'd deem an AssCreed AMV best of anything.

I was really talking from a mostly technical standpoint than from any point of whether the games are good or not (for the record, I am rather fond of the series). But, eh, to each there own.

I found it quite meh to be honest, it got repetitive quickly and most of it was just timed flashes.

That was awesome. The connection between Ezio, Altair and Desmond was perfectly expressed through the body switches.
I do get how some of you might think it's boring, but then this appeals to the AC fans more than the rest.

Nah, now THIS is what you call an AMV (or VGMV):

Okay, I'll admit it. That's one of my own, I just posted it here because I have no shame. Seriously though, that AMV the OP posted, the AC one, is bloody awesome. I tend to err on the cautious side when listening to them on Youtube because I've found Sturgeon's Law to apply pretty much unanimously. However, there occasionally comes up something gold in the muck, and Beautiful Lies is indeed one of those golden ones...

Indeed, the first time I saw this I was surprised it was fan made. Most fan made videos were just edited scenes from trailers. Some have been quite good but repetitive. This however was completely original and used clever glitches and scenes to show the melding of Altair, Ezio and Desmond. Absolutely gorgeous.

However since we're talking about awesome pieces of fan made AMV's, check out this World of Warcraft one. Seriously, awesome.

It's so hard to choose between this and the AC one...

I always thought AMV stood for Animated Music Video.

And HOLY FUCK!!! That was incredible.
It does. It also stands for "Anime Music Video," and is, in general, just a term that means "Not actual people, but also not a PV or MAD." I'm actually pretty sure yours is the technically correct term, but people mostly use it to mean Anime Music video, so it took on that meaning as well. Kind of like how, technically, it's OAV (Original Anime Video), but that also means Original Adult Video, so they started to use OVA (Original Video Anime); more the double meaning part than the renaming part.

Sorry if I was rude.
