Well I just finished it recently and to be perfectly honest, my reaction to the ending was one of...really that's it? The credits then roll and that's when things got interesting if only for around 5 seconds, where you can clearly hear Desmond groaning and people saying quickly get him back online (or something like that).

So we can only presume that Desmond is still actually trapped in the Animus in the Templars stronghold or something of the like. Just to add in more food for thought, if you look at some of the things that are written in your database, one in particular saying something like "unless we are in a dream too...", which pretty much settles it.

Just wondering what you guys thought about the way they are going with the series, I was worried last year when they did this whole extra-terrestrial stuff but this one (at least at the end) it relatively made sense.

I still worry that the climax of the series is going to be destroyed by either the dumbing down of the series or a continuous array of yearly sequels.

i loved the ending it leaves customers wanting more which could earn them more sales for future endeavours.

But it seems that Desmond was caught by Templars or some other mysterious faction but i have a feeling that Desmond may NOT be the main character maybe someone else from another area entirely.

but then again i wondered what happened to the Girl and the dude? i also wonder about the whole time stoping thing where you stab Lucy in the Stomach.

I think this is a guess ADAM from the bible saved you BUT his ancestor who i belive to be Subject 16 so my idea is the Desmond is the grandson of Eve while Subject 16 is Adam. just a idea but still i dont know.

Hey I just thought of a mad plot twist for the last game. (excuse me if the is stupid... I havent really played any of them) But what if Desmond is someone in the Animas replaying his memories!

I think that it was Assassins who put you back into the Animus, becuase during the credits, when one of them tells the other to "Put him in the Animus" the other replies in a worried tone "but it did this to him"

I think that Desmond stabbed Lucy, then Shaun and Rebecca called for backup.

To be honest, I have no idea :p

Not to mention: Is Subject 16 now hidden inside Desmond's consciousness? Most of all: What the fuck!?

Considering none of the voices in the credits sounded at all like Desmond, and were in fact completely new voices, I'd say there's something far more messed up going on. Perhaps it's taking a few hints from Inception and the past three games have been someone replaying genetic memories of Desmond.

Thought Process
"Huh, everyones frozen"
"Why's desmond turned around?"
*HiddenBlade Extends*"OHSHI-"
*Lucy's stabbed, they both fall over* "HOLY CRAP, NOW WHAT?!"
*Credits*
"FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU[Fast-Forwarding memory to a more recent one]UUUUUUUUUUUUUU-"

Its already been said, but it could turn out to be someone else reliving desmonds memories (but somehow with a better animus that doesnt ever get desynced)
or the voices at the end could be assassins, if you've read lucys emails when you leave the animus, she's been talking to someone who seems to be the leader of the assassins, and he mentions something about bringing desmond back once they get the apple

That's what I thought too. They were all unfamiliar voices to me.

Those are my thoughts.

"But it did this to him!" isn't something the templars would say. The only issue? It's a bit of a hike back to the Animus from that room, isn't it? Can't exactly get him in "quickly".

The ending was just Ubisoft/Assassin's creed.
They always leave a space open for sequels/more money.

Did anyone else notice that when you complete the game the menu is it's normal white background but it then breifly changes to the loading screen from the first game in which desmond was in the templar's animus(and the multiplayer which is also inside animi running on templar software.)

I think desmond has been re-captured.

Also what the fuck was up with...

Desmond having to stab lucy?

Admittedly I watched tv during the massive credits, so I missed these groans and such you are talking about.

I don't think the game had a cliff hanger, it just kind of ended. I said (out loud, to myself) "thats the end? OHkay ..."
