Has anybody noticed Assassin's Creed games always have a "WTF?" ending.
Assassin's Creed: Staring at the symbols on the wall
Assassin's Creed II: MInerva
Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood: Lucy beings stabbed.
What do you think about it? I personally find them to be okay except for Brotherhood, that was like "Credits, WTF?!?"

It's one of the reasons I love the series. It's the Lost of video games.

Except it doesn't suck the farther it gets in.

In Brotherhoods ending I sat there for about 10 minutes thinking the cut-scene had glitched, turns out I had to interact with it and finally stab Lucy...

Seriously, there was no on-screen warning at all... -_-

I did the same sort of thing. I could see where the scene was going. After about 1 minute of nothing happening, I realised I had to do it myself and just put it off for as long as I could, because I didn't want to stab her.

They explain that the HUD is part of the Animus, which is why you don't have it outside the Animus, so that part kinda makes sense. The rest of it, not so much. ;P

I like how the games always end with a WTF cliffhanger sort of moment, but they do it outside of the Animus. The story of Desmond's relatives always seems to wrap up nicely.

I look it all as one over-arching story, like episodes of a TV show, each episode has a cliff hanger to entice you for the next, like Lost, as someone already said

I enjoy the endings for Assasin's Creed games. After I played the first one, I couldn't stop making theories on what the symbols meant at the end of the game. After the second one, I began thinking that there "Maybe" was a concealed fight of the two groups happening through time (With Subject 16 Videos).

EDIT: Spelling XD

I thought that the ends got worse with each game. The first ending, while a little empty, gave a sense of mysterious and made one wonder about the next game. The second with Minerva was sort of stupid and made me WTF?! The final game had such a horrible ending that it made me RAGE. I mean seriously, you don't do much with Desmond for most of the game except near the end and you don't even fight, much less see any Templars as Desmond. But then at the very end, you stab Lucy... WHY!?!?

Yup. And I hate it.

The games generally manage to maintain an okay standard throughtout. Nothing special or good, but tolerable. Then they just go and shit themselves inside out right at the end.

The ending to the first game was very interesting but I absolutely loved the ending to the second game. This strange Goddess suddenly appears and then slaps you right in the face when she says shes talking to Desmond. When Minerva mentioned Juno and Jupiter, I was expecting Juno to appear at the end of Brotherhood and she did. I'm expecting Jupiter at the end of Revelations. The second game got me interested as to who this Minerva is, I looked her up, looked up the rest of her family, looked up the greek version of her, and I became so interested in mythology afterwards. A magical place filled with fun and colorful gods. :)

However I didn't really care for Brotherhood's ending. Your about to find out all of the answers, see what no one has seen before, you think the game has frozen for a sec, then you realise you have to move Desmond and then you stab Lucy, THE END! Why?

I like the plot to assasin's creed, but its really just a rehash of all the templar conspiracy stuff that you can hear when their's nothing good on the history channel. However, it does manage to throw in enough twists to keep me hooked, so there's not much to complain about.

The ending to brotherhood was still "WHAT" for me though.

Apparently Nolan North, Desmond's voice actor said "Credits...WTF?" at the end of the game.

The developers will probably answer our questions on what happened in the next game...and than leave us with another WTF cliffhanger. They seriously have a penchant for it.

cliffhangers make me hungry for more

(apart from the film cliffhanger which just made me sad!)

Agree with the first part of the post, hate you for the second part :D LOST is great.

Seriously, that is why I love Assassin's Creed. Speculating about the mysteries, who is who and what is what and what the hell is going on. But a mystery is only fun until you discover the truth. It's always like that. Some people are unaware of that and that's why they didn't like LOST.

Assassin's Creed 2 didn't have much of a WTF ending to me. It made sense, given what happens in the rest of the game, and wasn't too difficult to wrap my mind around. Brotherhood was the same, except for the need to kill Lucy. My guess is that she was either a spy, or that her existence would compromise Desmond's ability to stay focused on the task at hand. Or maybe he needs to avoid being tied down by the current assassin's guild. So, while that part did pretty much come out of nowhere, it's not like reasons for it happening are inconceivable.

Im pretty sure it was an imposter Lucy, in Monteriggioni, you can find footsteps leading from where Lucy stands early in the game to a grate going to some sort of sewer system using your eagle vision.

OT: I love them, i love reading about what people think is happening and speculating the events myself, not to mention when the next game explains it, its usually very satisfying.
Still when i first heard of Assassins Creed, i never thought that the story would be anything remotely like this

Ah, clever, Ubisoft, clever. Though the statistical likelihood of the Templars having access to a person who is essentially Lucy's stunt double is very slim, based on that evidence, that probably is the case.
