I enjoyed AC3 until the ending which kinda shit itself. I was disappointed because I thought it was the end to the franchise as a whole, but knowing the story's gonna keep going, I'm interested. Because, pirates.

Hopefully Edward will have more personality than Connor. Also, whenever he does a Leap of Faith, I hope he does a parrot noise and not an eagle noise.

I never thought I'd actually be interested in an Ass Creed game since I last played II.

I love pirates like I love my Nazis and zombies and this alone will suffice for playing pirate music in the background.

I like the idea of Kenway being talked about by Blackbeard as if he's an old pirate legend, hopefully he will have more of a personality than his descendants.
I'm still on he fence but I might get it judging on reviews when the game is released.

Just a side note but I'm so sick of "leaked info". Since it's almost never an actual leak but a planned marketing tactic. This is a fully rendered CGI trailer, not exactly the first draft of a script or maybe some concept art.

Awwww Teach and not Calico Jack? I'll stick to Sid Meier's Pirates! until my C=64 dies thank you very much. Even then I'd prefer to run an emulator on a Raspberry Pi. To be honest I have never liked the series but pirates at least got me a little interested. Now they are going to have to get Henry Rollins to voice the protagonist or score a trailer with TV Party to get me.interested again.

I bet there is either going to be a sibling to Desmond, his parents, or he has some random kid that he never knew about. Or he gets brought back to life. Either way I never cared about the modern day plot, in fact I would have liked the games more without it.

It is true the series has gone from "Assassins Creed" to "Faffing About Creed"

I dunno, this honestly feels like it should be a spin-off rather than a numbered entry. Other than that there's still a couple of problems I have with this:

Him being an assassin is almost like an afterthought in the trailer, which is telling you all the awesome stuff you get to do as a pirate, and then "oh yeah, you're also an assassin in your spare time."

Second - the "real world" storyline seemed to be reaching a climax and ideally, it should be getting more and more focus as the series progresses, so it seems weird for the next numbered entry to once again not even mention the other storyline.

Yeah, I was thinking to myself:

"If I was a cut throat, nasty and infamous pirate captain and there's another pirate captain who I honestly believe is better, what would I say about him? Would I sing his praises and talk about how you should join him if you want riches and glory? **** no."

I'd either keep it quiet, downplay his achievements or spread nasty rumors. So that I can stay top dog.

Exactly my thoughts. Why in the world would BLACKBEARD, of all people, go around singing the praises of another pirate? I was waiting for the whole video for the moment that Blackbeard would smile and go, "But, he'd best be learnin' to mind where he steps, aye?", or something like that. But, it turned out to be two straight minutes of Blackbeard talking about how great this guy is. Right.

This just gives a vibe of "Hey, guys! Look how cool and awesome our new character is! Even BLACKBEARD likes him!"

Cinematic trailers just don't sell me on games anymore. Will this game also feel hastily thrown together and be released with unacceptable bugs?

I've liked all the Assassin's Creed games up until 3, but 3 left me with a really bad taste in my mouth. They're gonna have to work pretty hard to win back any affection I had for the series.

I love pirates but how the hell can they be assassins? Edward stands out so much.

From what I've seen in this trailer, they've clearly abandoned logic for this franchise. Blackbeard would never say the things he did.

It better have some awesome pirate music though. Day one if it does.

Connor's story ends like 250 years prior to 2012; given that amount of time, it's very unlikely that Desmond's family is the only one to descend from the Kenways. Not to mention that Edward Kenway is a goddam pirate, so we can pretty safely say he did his fair share of banging random bimbos, and Haytham probably wasn't his only son.

The problem I have with assassins creed: With the exception of the second and brotherhood I have been syperhyped because honestly, these are very good trailers.

But the games usually fail to deliver it for me. I am gonna pre order this most like, but as it was with the first, revelations, and all the rest I haven't mentioned so far, I most likely won't like this game.

Still.. Pirates. Awesome. And a great trailer. As always. *Sigh*

I find it rather odd that they're coming back in time instead of forward, kind of disappointing to tell the truth. Kenway sounds like an even bigger asshole for converting now that I know his father's clearly completely awesome.
