So we've had Altair in the Holy Land, and in just over a week we'll have Ezio in Venice. But what other places could be seen by one of Desmond's ancestors? I personally love the idea of an Assassin in Ancient Rome; taking lives in the Forum, the Coliseum, maybe a couple of villas? What are your thoughts?

Ancient Rome? I can't see it going backwards in time.

I'd like a modern day one, playing as Desmond.

WW2 would also be cool.

Dont you mean a Futuristic one, playing as Desmond
I reckon a Desmond one would be the Final one, or possibly the Final assasination in one, maybe in II, (woah! I may be onto somthing there)

I imagine they will keep getting more recent too...
Never thought about a WW2 one, climbing ruined buildings in destroyed Europe, while bombs fall all around you would be cool...
A modern day tall city maybe, jumping off buildings in Tokyo, New York or off the Dublin Spire(Google image it) would be cool

Industrial revolution would indeed be the next "great" advancement in the history, or then pretty much anything from 20th century. (plenty o' wars and terror there :p)

however as it's the "last part" it would be locigal (and best perhaps) for it to 'futuristic today' and playing as Desmond.

Apparently Desmond gets an expanded role in AC2. Part of the game involves him and Lucy escaping from Abstergo, right at the start, though I'm not certain if that's perhaps a cutscene or a playable part of the game (most likely playable given that cutscenes aren't actually used in AC). But I'd love to see the French Revolution, or perhaps Victorian England. Or as a samurai, following the code of Bushido, in Feudal Japan :D

Personally, i think industrial reveloution. Or the wild west.... Those or 1900 britain, with the titanic...

But i have bad ideas anyways
back in the day when britain had a better legacy then those of binge drinking youths. personally id like to see a futuristic one of desmond, this might actual be a game there planning on bringing out anyway so i might be right :D.

I was thinking Revolutionary France, would be a good one, as it was a time of major social upheaval, also you can introduce guns which are powerful but take ages to reload thus keeping the main combat mechanics.

French revolution would be a great setting, plenty of shit going on and nasty gits to go after in that period

Well to be honest it was more of a joke, I'd like to see Desmonds greatgrandfather Desmond O'Malley climb that thing

industrial revolution would be good, but wild west wouldnt really have any big buildings

Ancient Japan/China would be quite obvious really, paintings of those buildings in AC1's ending, anyone?

Methinks this will be the next one
well...
as Desmond in AC2 you will escape and i saw some game play of you (as desmond) fist-fighting some abstergo guards

anyway next game i would say either the civil war or WW1, as an American assassin, im only basing this on the amount of time between ac1 and ac2

The story is described as 'an epic' and nobody really knows at this point how long it will go. I suppose Ubi will keep finding amusing, beautiful, interesting, and obscure pockets of history for us as time goes on. Maybe that's why they started 900 years ago, to leave so much time for Desmond's ansestors. You can fit a lot of them into that time... I once researched Robert de Sable's desendants... Four hours. FOUR HOURS. He was related to Winston Churchill, Princess Diana, and Anne Bolyen, though, which is cool.

Where to go? America, sooner or later. It would be really interesting to go to the days settlers first arrived, where the main enemy was the natives. It could provide some intellectual material, too, seeing as an assassin and the templars would be on the same side against the natives, but still fighting amongst themselves... It's kind of hard to explain, forgive me ^^;

Keeping with the Pseudo-Religuins Holy War theme of the series, (after all, they're looking for the Ark of the Convenant or somesuch, aren't they?) they could easily set it in World-War 2 era europe (yawn) or the industrial revolution in... pretty much anywhere. Or they could just got for finishing the series in a 3rd game and let Desmond finish what his family started in his post-modern Corporate Buisness Asshole world by ruthlessly slaying those that had kidnapped him and keeping safe the... relic or whatever that they had been hunting.

Bounty hunter assasin FTW
How could you say Star Wars and Assassin in the same sentence without mentioning HK-47? Heck, i'd buy a game where you play as him.
On topic, I think they might to something with china, seeing as they had all that writing on the wall at the end of AC1.
