Britain would be good, victorian era. The main character could be Jack the Ripper.
Murdering prostitutes? That doesn't sound like the super AC "running-around-on-buildings" fun we have had up until this point. Besides, wasn't London at the time extremely bad in air quality due to coal? Have fun free running in that >.>

I think a Desmond based, futuristic telling is next.

Well to be honest it was more of a joke, I'd like to see Desmonds greatgrandfather Desmond O'Malley climb that thing

industrial revolution would be good, but wild west wouldnt really have any big buildings
I was going to say...isn't it just a giant needle?

Maybe not any HUGE buildings, but the setting would be awesome and swordplay is viable - and if you need big, they should invent some clocktower.
Swordplay isn't quite viable in the Wild West, unless you want to continuously attack those army guys in their wooden fortresses (can't recall their names =|).

Im hoping it stays in a time period before guns became conventional because one of the funnest parts about assassins creed is comming down off of a roof and shanking someone with hidden blade and if all of your enimies have guns it would be very difficult to escape.

WW2 would also be cool.
Just no.We have enough WW2 games.Even though this would be different,it would feel the same.

Now WW1 on the other hand is hole nother matter.

But then it's like, run through trenches, gas grenade, inevitable death. That won't be very much fun now, would it? (any game, involving an assasin who uses blades will not, I repeat, NOT work in an era where guns have been invented)

I'd like to see it being set during the Peloponnesian War.

Just cause I'm studying it in Ancient History right now.

Its an interesting point in history though, has some huge military/political influences within it (since its the first time in recorded history that Democracy is crushed)

For God's sake, NO WW2!! No more games in WW2 settings, I can't take it anymore!

Also, I don't think Wild West would work... too much focus on gunplay to keep the sneaky stealth feel of AC alive, and not enough big concentrations of people to make vanishing in a crowd possible upon discovery.

Going further back doesn't make sense, so in my opinion good options would be Victorian era Britain, the Industrial Revolution, or maybe feudal Japan.

Cry moar. Besides has no one here heard of The Saboteur? Its basially a WWII Assassin Creed.
No, I haven't heard of that game.
And I think I'll take that advice. I can never cry enough about how that setting has been horrendously over-used in gaming history. In fact, I could try shedding one tear for every WW2 game ever made, but I'm afraid I just might shrivel up into a dried-out husk.

Hyperbole much? People exaggerate(sp?) over the amount of WWII games and then they dont even play the truly epic ones.
Well, yeah, I tend to exaggerate (yes, spelling was correct). In all fairness, I've certainly not played all of them, but all in all at least 15 or so, some of which were really, really good. I guess this kind of thing works like food for me - eat too much of it for too long with little to no variety inbetween (even if it's your favorite food item ever) and you'll end up being so sick of it you'll never want to eat another bite of it. That's kind of where I'm at with WW2 games / games in that setting and why I get ticked about it so easily.
In summary, sorry for ruffling your feathers, didn't mean to sound like a troll.

Star Wars

Bounty hunter assasin FTW
How could you say Star Wars and Assassin in the same sentence without mentioning HK-47? Heck, i'd buy a game where you play as him.
On topic, I think they might to something with china, seeing as they had all that writing on the wall at the end of AC1.
Oh yes! HK-47 and the mystery of the HK-50 FACTORY!!!

The story is closely linked to the Knights Templar and the Holy Grail so I believe the next setting could be England or somewhere elsewhere in Europe.

I'd rather not see the next Assassin's Creed during the World War because it will just become another World War game on the steadily increasing pile.

feudal Japan.
Well, that will work, since, you know, Desmond's ancestors are Italian and Arabic, he's obviously going to have some Japanese in him.
Oh noez, don't hit me with the sarcasm mallet!!1!
I never said anything about there being Japanese blood anywhere in Desmond's ancestry. However, one of those ancestors could have come over on a ship, which wasn't even that big a rarity back then. I see no reason why a plot about an assassin from Desmond's bloodline making his life as a gaijin sell-steel in feudal Japan couldn't work. Do you?
