AC was a weird game for me. When I look back on it, I think I really enjoyed it, and yet, 90% of the game fell square in the 'meh' category. The stealth mechanics were broken, the missions were repetitive, the fact that you had to start at your HQ each mission and then go all the way back out to a city was tedious and my word does someone need to tell Ubisoft that you can give a story a meaningful ending and STILL create a sequel(if I see one more "To be Continued" from them, I'm gonna snap).
That said, there was something in the game that left a lasting impression though. Once I got into a city, scaled the nearest wall and started hopping on the rooftops, I was hooked. All of the wall jumping and acrobatics were so fluid and well done that I forgot about most of the game's flaws. The story wasn't terrible either, but could have used a little less remorse after kills; I'm an assassin, I don't want to feel bad about doing my job.
If they take everything that wasn't the jumping, scaling part of the game and touch it up, I think AC2 will be a pretty decent game.
