Feudal Japan.

Just...why not?

I mean, samurai swords.

FREAKIN' SAMURAI SWORDS.
Of course the player would be a ninja and not a samurai. Though I guess a ninja could pick up one of the swords from a samurai.
I feel that Ubisoft are determined to crowbar in their "management" bullshit somewhere into future Assassin's Creeds: playing as a Samurai would make more sense; you'd have to manage the land(s) you own, take part in meetings, organise your troops in preparation for battle, and take part in them, with assassination targets being other Samurai and lords. That would allow for sweeping game areas akin to Shogun 2, which would really aid in making the game feel less linear.

Also, practically anyone could an assassin, and ninjas were mostly centered around guerilla warfare & spying, little more than mercenaries and thugs.

The synchronization mechanic would also bolster the game's difficulty, as the player would have to follow both Bushido and the assassin's tenets, making the combat somewhat more challenging.

In addition, feudal Japan would be better portrayed through the eyes of a samurai; you'd get to see the land change, huge epic battles and truly experience the era, as ninjas were mostly tied to their village/locale.

Dont really care WHERE It is, as long as they will fix some of the problems.

- Switch the PC controls back to the way it was in AC 1/2/B/R The setup in 3 was just pure crap on a stick being shoved down your throat.
- Go the more stealthy ASSASSIN way, instead of what we usually get now. maybe even ONLY have a hidden blade.

Seriously, how do they NOT suspect me for EVERY crime? I am walking with 2/3 swords, a hidden blade, a tomahawk, and a bow. And NO ONE is questioning that?

Just a hidden blade would be cool. And a bit more difficult.

Golden age of the Netherlands would be a cool time-period and place.

But I mostly prefer them to stop with the yearly releases and start focusing on assassinations again.

I am trying to think of how Assassins creed might play in a future scenario and how they did Tomb Raider is the closest thing that comes to mind. If not I would have the protagonist use simple tools, mostly just the hidden blade because it is not often you get to carry a massive weapon in public. If not I don't see much reason to continue to go forward in time at all but Victorian England does seem promising. Automatic weapons and this game will not go well together.
