I've been playing Dragon's Dogma a lot lately. I'm really enjoying it. Especially the feel of the combat. Whether it's putting arrows though goblins from a hundred paces or clinging onto a Chimera, it just feels and sounds great. But yeah, you have to backtrack a lot and the pawns can be annoying as hell (even though they work surprisingly well in combat).
Kingdom of Amalur: Reckoning really pleasantly surprised me. It's fun, colorful and has great combat. The story isn't all too great, but then again, neither is Skyrim's (or Dragon's Dogma's for that matter). Something you have to sacrifice for an open world, I suppose.
As for Skyrim itself, there has been a lot of patching for the PS3 version, and personally I think most of the problems are fixed. It's very much playable, at the very least. Personally, even though I put a lot of hours into Skyrim, I didn't like it. It just left me feeling completely empty. Not the slightest emotional involvement, because the world just seems utterly oblivious to the impact of your actions (even though they mostly consist of controlling the Draugr population in interchangeable caves and crypts). It's been called an ocean with the depth of a padling pool. I agree.
