It's not a friendless world, simply one lacking gaming friends. Also, co-op games tend to sacrifice a certain amount of quality to ensure that the game is co-op compliant. Finally, if the game depends heavily on co-op, then playing it single player often means having to rely on retarded AI, since devs have decided that programming AI is a waste of time...Kross said:I weep for the friendless void you live in.Jandau said:and even if it's just co-op, I hate co-op...![]()
That's pretty much my take on it as well, but Cryptic's trend of putting out half-assed games is what really gives me pause here. Maybe by throwing out the MMO in favor of co-op they will have time to develop a better all-around experience.Royas said:Actually, this would work as an MMO. That's pretty much what 4th edition rules are written to be to start with, wouldn't take much adaptation. While I have no interest in 4th edition as a tabletop RPG (actually, that's not strong enough, I hate it), for a computer game it wouldn't be nearly as bad. I guess this will be worthwhile to at least a look in on.
You just joined this forum solely so you could Necro a thread that's about a year old?LordOrranMargath said:here here, i feel like 4thed is simply a stepping stone to allow more futureistic meathods of play
i have played every ed extensivly and 4th is more of a computer game user manual than an rpg source book
as for this neverwinter co-op game, i will llook at it when it goes live, but not having high hopes, ddo in a new setting? only five classes in a truly customizable character creation process? something just feels like money grap here
