Most anti-religious Atheist's don't critisize belief in itself, but the absurd moral views and bad deeds it can lead to. I haven't the slightest against people who believe in santa's elves, even thought that's just as illogical as what the religions have come up with. The problem with most religions is not that they're (with a probability that amounts to practical certainty) fake, but that their content is often fairly violent (burn sinners!) and intolerant towards non-believers and other innocent groups like gay people and such. And while there are many theists who can look past or ignore this, some get stuck with moral beliefs that can only be described as unjustifiedly intolerant by modern standards. The positive things of religion has gained a life of its own in secular humanism and philosophy, so what religion (also) brings to the table is weird dogmas, intolerance and totalitarism, which I think we could do without.
This is why, even if I saw solid proof that any of the gods organized theistic religion is talking about really existed, I (and presumably quite a few other atheists) still wouldn't worship them, on account of the bad stuff found in "their" (i.e the various churches') teachings.
You should tolerate and accept illogical beliefs, but not ones that can lead to intolerance, persecution and evil deeds - and in my opinion (and most other anti-theists), religion fundamentally has both systems in it - although most theists just stick to the first one, and should thus be fully accepted by their fellow man.
