Ok, so, I don't know if anybody's already said this, since there's 11 pages of posts I don't have time to sort through.
I'm not defending the guy's overall views very far, but I do think that his words may have been taken out of context. From the blurb that I read (and I admit I may be missing some other comments or a greater context that is lost by only reading the one blurb), he is speaking specifically about which group he feels more personally threatened by, rather than who has a more negative effect on society. The context I'm reading from this is that he's expressing that he feels more threatened by gamers because they target him personally, whereas bikers do not threaten his person, despite their animosity towards him.

I'd like to start up a decent debate and discussion with Atkintroll, but he would disregard my claims on the bias that I am a gamer, not that my argument would be full of 'Yo Mamma' jokes.
I also heard that a year or so back, he pulled support (outlawed) for discussion of an R18+ rating here in Australia.

Well no shit he got a threat from a gamer instead of a biker he isn't screwing around with bikers. Let's see him try to outlaw motorcycles. The bikers won't threaten him of course. They will just kill him.

If this guy would stop to think, he might just realize that the reason gamers are slipping things under his door is that he's being a complete, brazen fool about these things. Video games can be a form of art (NOTE: >CAN BE<). Censorship of art WILL ALWAYS lead to a backlash from those who enjoy the censored form of art against those who willfully deny them the right to enjoy it. If Atkinson knew anything about history or psychology or sociology... if Atkinson knew ANYTHING, he'd know that his childish, archaic position on free speech is merely exacerbating things.
