No seriously I remember a thread awhile back about what your IQ is and not one person said below 130 (actually maybe someone did but very few). Us escapians are always comin up with bright shit on the forums and I've seen maybe like one or two hardcore christians (yeah yeah yeah....)

I mean seriously!

We should form a club (wait I guess we already did).

You don't have the usual cockpiddle you get on most forums of the degree of youtube commenters, and everyone always has a solid opinion on things (well mostly).

For one, IQ is not a quality that can be measured-we aren't born with it. IQ is a test score based on the westerner's idea of intelligence. Since I doubt anyone here took any of the officaly recognized ones, I would have to be suspicious on the degree of credibility such a test woud have.

That, and not all of the posters here are "smart"

Yes, but anyone who uses "teh" on purpose can generally be spotted and weeded out from the typos, due to other non-words associated with the use of "teh". So any of those words should be grounds for cruel and unusual expulsion.

Now we need to figure out a cruel and unusual expulsion technique.

IQ tests are based on logic, not intelligence. I know a dyslexic lad (a rare form of it giving you incredible logic, but terrible maths and literacy skills) who scores literally genius level in those tests, but you talk to him and he's just a normal guy. I'm supposed to be pretty damn intelligent and I score less than him (then again I listen to Behemoth, so ignore that).
My point is that gamers will naturally have developed a greater sense of logic from repeatedly doing lots of little puzzles within games. Even something as minimal as using a control pad confuses the hell out of some people. Essentially, as a gaming community, this place attracts those with a great logic, and therefore IQ.
Having a high IQ doesn't make you a genius, that's just a myth. What's more, people who are going to post their IQ aren't going to be people with an IQ of 90... I mean who's gonna admit that? :S

Because people can lie over the internet - its very easy...I'll post an example:

Again I disagree, I have noticed a recent upsurge in poor posting, poor grammar and just generally rude attitudes - sure I'm not exactly perfect, but when people post their thread titles without capital letters (pet peeve) or worse ALL IN CAPITALS LIKE THIS - well, it gets very irritating.

Yet we heap praise on one another as if this forum is somehow superior to about 90% of other forums - in fact I have seen a number of newcomers complaining we are overly hostile in our post - not to mention extremely elitist and big-headed. Don't make threads like this; sure there are a variety of intelligent veterans - but that doesn't make everyone on the site intelligent you know...

that's because Intelligence isn't the same around the world. In the west, Intelligence is measured by schoolastic Achievement. In tribes in Kenya, it's measured by the ability to identify Herbs.

no i did not believe an un-offical IQ test. It was an official one (from a university site) I also took the MENSA one. And also people have been saying this but I'll say it again. IQ does have some stock on intelligence. It just doesn't have all of it. It shows your logic and problem solving skills and some other shit. (in hindsight those two might be the same)

We should place more value on knowledge when it comes to Intelligence, in my opinion.

On an internet forum in which Google is one click away knowledge is near non-existent. If anything we should place value on experience and opinions.
