I've been having trouble with audio within certain games for my pc. The main issue is that its generally cut out and just lets out crackles and screeches. I don't have this problem for all games though.
I run windows 7 professional 64bit. The issue started after the change from 32bit to 64bit. A necessary change as I had upgraded to 4Gb RAM and do quite a bit of virtual machine work.
I have tried different audio drivers with no changes in results.
I tried a reformat incase it was a bad install, no result.
I bought a proper audio card since I use the onboard one. All it did was spread the issues across everything.
I've tried using different output ports, no change.
Of the games I play, I get the issue in the following:
fallout 3
Fallout: New Vegas
Oblivion
Worms Reloaded
Saints Row 2
The following games I can play perfectly fine.
L4D2
Mount & Blade Warband
Team fortress 2
Sid Meiers Civilization 5
Portal
Portal 2
