Oh, hells yes. I remember this game. Were those characters really Maori...or just more vaguely Pacific Island-ish, leaning toward Maori? Was there any traditional Maori mythology in that game?

I'm currently an American who lives in New Zealand and, I've got to say, I never realized before moving here how "Americanized" video games are.

Then gain, there are only about 5 million Kiwis the world over, so...While I think that you guys are definitely underrepresented, "population-accurate" representation can't be just too far away.

Don't worry when they make a game out of the "tomarrow series" you guys well have all the repesentig you nee.

doubt any you have heard of that book and I also doubt they would ever make a game out of it, though if anyone did it would explode from being awsome.

EDIT: HOLY TITS!! sorry just found out there making a movie of it, hopefully it will come to the states.

oh the tomarrow series is like ?Red Dawn?, only with Australian kids fighting some unnamed occupying force.
Loved the books, sucks that he finished the series.
They are making a movie of it? ill have to look it up.

There are LOTS of Australian actors in games these days... But they're all told to put on American accents. *grumble, grumble*

Claudia Black i.e. she who does the voice of Morrigan in Dragon Age is technically Australian, but that probably doesn't count because it's a fantasy game.
She also plays Chloe in Uncharted 2. You can tell she's Aussie in that game because she keeps letting the English accent slip.

I hate to burst some bubbles, but the Sniper is voiced by an Englishman and the Demoman by an American. They did it so that the accents would sound funny and unrealistic, hehe. Also, Toasty, you don't really think that most Scottish people actually sound like the Demoman do you?

While I am all for NZ becoming a global phenomenon, there's really only so much you can do with us. We're no good for war games (unless you make one based on Gallipoli), have very little to add to RPGs ("Oh look, I just scored 100exp for using my rugby ball on that Tuatara. Choice!") and will probably never sell other countries on our mascots (Sonic vs. Crash Bandicoot vs. The Goodnight Kiwi???)

Game developers MIGHT be able to fit more Maori culture into games, but I haven't got any Maori blood in me, so still feeling pretty left out.

Anyone...?
Really?
There's the British only I thought.
What character specifically
The Task Force 141 is made up of the Rangers and the SAS. The SAS consists of Australian and British soldiers. Rook, Driver and Meat are all Australian.

New Zealanders aren't in any action games because it would be unrealistic to portray New Zealand as having an army.

I'm sorry but my inner Australian made me say that.
True enough, but still, ouch!

I don't mean to offend anyone though, I'll keep the sheep jokes to myself.
Haha, no offense taken by me anyway.
OT: I just realised that Dingodile from Crash Bandicoot is as Aussie as shrimp on the flamin' barbie.
