The Australian government really doesn't trust its people, doesn't it?

I think whats most disturbing is that nobody even knew about it, surely your meant to announce such changes to the law before you implement it?

Okay, seriously. Australia's government keeps on doing more and more stupid things. What the hell are the twats trying to prove? So let me think... they have banned games due to them being too 'explicit' The drinking age is higher...and now R rated movies are banned? I mean...Fucking seriously. Is the government trying to prove something?

It's like they're trying to make Australia look like some 'sinless' and perfect utopia to hide the fact the entire continent was once a feetle (Sorry, I don't know how to spell the word) colony. In some odd sense, this all cheers me up.

Ahh yes, I remember last year with their 'Fox Stop' policy. And now, the same people that made this law are showing how backwards they really are. Hopefully now everyone can learn that barbaric deeds and policies stray not too far from backwards ones.

Sure, with Liquor, Games, and Movies there will come problems, there WILL be stupid people...but who cares about them? If you're that stupid to think you're Raiden, that stupid to drive a car intoxicated, and that stupid to believe your fucking Wesley Snipes because you saw Blade, then maybe, just maybe, you weren't supposed to live anyway. It's called natural selection.

Once again, South Australian Government. The whole of Australia isn't affected by this R-Rated law (which is not a ban) only South Australia.

Drinking age? oh bloody hell if they change that to 21 I'm fucking off to Canada and getting a Visa. I'm not going to sit by and watch my country slowly turn into a Toys-'R'-Us.

Speaking of Toy's-'R'-Us, you reckon they'll start lobbying to ban plastic swords and guns out of fear that kids will suddenly turn into a criminals? We'll be living in a padded room before long.

I never thought I'd be glad to live in America based on age-limit type things. Seriously, Australia is headed south, and fast. I'm truly sorry for all you Australian Escapists. I really am.

This is true. When they say "Australia bans something" they actually mean "South australia bans something and the rest of australia doesn't give a damn."

Very sorry. 'twas rude for me to generalize. Hmm Soo...from this am I to assume that South Australia is equal to the more southern states of U.S.A ?

This is now the third thread on this.
-Australia has not banned R movies. South Australia, the state, has banned the display of R rated movie covers. It's all thanks to the Family First Party (Atkinson).

It's total BS, and I'm not happy about it.

What makes you think we don't give a damn? I live in Queensland and I still give quite a lot of damn simply because this sort of influence from Atkinson still comes with the chance of spreading. There is most likely another Atkinson laying in wait ready to strike.

Ahh, Richard Atkinson - turning Australia into his own little Fourth Reich. Fantastic.

Well, that was rude.

I live in America too, but I sympathize with the Australians.

I wouldn't know actually...but when I speak to my friend from Oregon next I'll be sure to have educate me some more on America. That's if she feels like being nice about it (she doesn't like her own country very much)

Why isn't it okay to just sell these things to the people who are 18+ like the boxes say. It seems to be a pretty foolproof way to keep people from seeing awesome movies.

I live in NSW and I don't give a damn. If our PM was smart he wouldn't pay any attention to the crazy old man who runs SA. He'll be out of a job soon enough.
