By auto save on this particular game, it actually means it won't save ever.

And thanks to xbox's self defence youve gotten really far in the last unsaved six hours. I had better crash. I have lost a giant amount of the game which i will infuriatingly battle back through.

Other games seem to auto save for real after every mission or little game, and some even when you happen to walk into a new room or move 10 yards of your current position.

Anyone had worse experiences?

Saints Row 2. The missions range from annoying to frustrating to easy.

I completed the whole of the brotherhood and one of the other gangs.
Incredibly annoying to start all over again.

On Oblivion the autosaves just save over the top of one another. Some stupid glitch which prevents me from continuing part of the game occurs, then autosaves and so I have to start a new game over this one which I have already played for 35 hours.
Wasn't...happy :(

Oblivion autosaves at all the wrong times. Earlier today, it autosaved when it glitched and three random NPCs began to attack me, but as I had not gone through a door, it did not autosave after I had taken out a room full of Frost Atronachs and Spider Daedra with a crappy mace.

Saint's Row 2 does auto-save after each mission. So either you've disabled it or your game bugged up.

I was pissed when i played morrowind and i went to sleep as a vampire - it autosaved and thus destroyed over 100 hours of work because i kept spawning into the sun. It also saved out of the blue after i killed a main character by accident - thus removing another 100 hours of work.

Supreme Commander that bloody game, a good chunk of the objectives involve you escorting large amount of trucks that die if anything simply looks at them funny, and your only allowed to lose about 1/4 of them before you lose.

Then considering the fact that the levels in the game last for HOURS and I have to fight to get back to where I was in the first place.

what the hell is wrong with autosaving after I beat a primary objective.

While I agree that AutoSave these days is dementedly broken, there's a thing called "quicksave" or "assing yourself into manual saving". I picked this up from Final Fantasy Tactics, the very game that can omgwtfpwn your entire party in one battle if you so much as choose ONE WRONG SKILL/ITEM.

I think there should be two slots for autosaves. It shouldn't be too hard to implement, right?

But still, you shouldn't rely only on one save slot. Hell, I used 60 save slots in KoTOR.

Sorry to dig up an old topic, but I didn't want to start a new one.

I was just playing Mercenaries 2 and I had gotten the mechanic, the jet pilot, and 3 HVTs when the game froze. I wasn't that concerned because the game supposedly autosaves quite often. Well it seems quite often is about every 3 hours because when I turned my 360 back on I had lost 2 fucking hours of work!
