My father told me that when metric system was adopted,it was too much of an arse to redo the measurings on all industrial hardware in USA,which was large exporter at that time. Plus,it may have something to do with USSR using the metric system.
So communist numbers mean that you can't have a sytem that makes more sense?
To be fair, I don't think there are very many places were impreial measurements have completely managed to be phased out, here we use just about every measure we can get our hands on...
I don't really know. Metric system really makes more sense, but as i said, replacing all Imperial numbers with Metric in the entirety of USA would be too much of an arse - USSR was probably minor political reason for keeping Imperial system. But enough with off-topic already.

Early Autumn is the best, but as it gets colder I start to hate it more and more. Stupid cold Canada...

I love Fall (or autum if you want to call it that). For some reasone I LOVE the cold, I love the colorfulness, and I even like he season when everything turns brown.

I just love the season even if it is when I have to go back to school.

The wind is playing havoc with my Sky+, various channels, no satellite signals, pah. At least the leaves are pretty.

I love Autumn. The weather seems to be perfect in Autumn. I am also ginger, but I don't like the sun anyway.
Autumn is full of colour and it's just great.

Ok so its the first day of Autumn today, is it weird that I'm actually kinda excited about it?
Im really a autumn person and I have my resons for this, such as being ginger so im not able to go out in the sun with out fear of turning in to a pretty close resemblance burnt, crisp, sundried tomato. Also, there are less dirty old men in tiny shorts lingering around with their shriveled knees out.People seem to care less about what they look like as well. In addition, almost everything looks better (in the UK atleast) with the exceptions of like fields of stuff. Down side is that loads of people complain about the cold...
So yeah, how do you lot feel about this season?
Call me a witless fool, but I like all times of year. In fact, I try to like everything. Surrisingly, it actually does make me happy

I like all the seasons, when I'm not in them. I like Summer, but when I get there it's too hot.
Autumn, is apparently all nice and brown and natural, but its too windy.
And Winter is meant to be cozy, and nice, and Christmasy, but its too cold.
Guess I can't be pleased.

Spring and autumn are my two favorite times of year. They aren't too hot or too cold and it's just beautiful. These are the times I feel myself compelled to go outside and take a nap in the grass.

Spring has too many wild animals. Happy now? You made me angry at bunnies!

I guess Spring is the only season I can actually tolerate, if only its really short.

I like Autumn too- its pleasant and cool, and i have never been fussed by rain.
Plus, i have my birthday to look forward to, being in October, and then halloween on the 31st, and then Bonfire Night on the 5th November- plenty of festivities.
Plus, academically the Autumn is never challenging, its all about settling into the new school year. The fact that spring is the exam season totally spoils that season.

Grats on the first thread Gary :D

Autumn this year is just the same as Summer in the UK, because we had no Summer. Only gray days with the occasional rainstorm, and a tiny amount of sun.

The only difference we'll see is pretty brown and red leaves on the trees, and they will soon be blown away by the next inevitable gale, to leave only the ugly skeletons of the trees to be exposed over the next 7 months. Oh and people will stop bitching about how it's not sunny, and start bitching about how it's too windy. Just like every other fucking Autumn.

Wow, what a negative post.

*tries to think of something I like about Autumn.*

Erm, apple season? I dunno.
