I ha-a-ate My Little Pony avatars. Hell, I press the big red button just to get away from them.

Also people who think they're being funny by using a troll face as their avatar bug me.

I don't have much of a bias really, although I am curious as to why everyone hates ponies. Most of the reasons that I've heard from people make it sound like they hate bronies for liking something that they don't like....which sounds rather normal for the internet.

Anything that makes me go "Whoa! That's awesome!" immediately becomes a cool person in my mind. Also Scott Pilgrim avatars like mine ^_^

Taking the opportunity and, nothing against you, but avatars like yours. Creepy faces like that.

Also not reading posts because of pony avatars is now considered racism.

Can't say I have a bias against avatars, I base all my judgments on the content of the post.

A picture may say 1000 words but what those 1000 words are will change from person to person.

90%~ of anime avatars and My Little Pony ones make me skip posts, even when interested in a thread and not just scanning through.

I'll also admit to a slight anti-pony-avatar bias. So many avatars on the same theme in the same colour palette - it's remarkably hard to tell users apart with them, which is one of the main functions of individual avatars in the first place.

Some animated avatars have a borderline hypnotic quality, which means I spend a lot of time looking at them, which consequently means I spend a lot of time looking at the posts of the people who use them, making me more likely to reply.
Whereas interesting and fairly original avatars catch my attention when just scanning through. Sorry to quote you as an example, but you fit the bill.

I don't really dislike any avatars in particular, except for the ones that are so detailed that you can't make out what's on them.

I'm biased against threads about how we can claim to know a person's entire personality based on the 100x100 picture they choose to show on an internet forum.
Guess it's a good thing that that's not what this thread is about.

As has been said, the only avatars I inherently dislike are the invisible ones.

It's not terribly challenging to give yourself an avatar, to not do so is just lazy. I didn't have one for a while, so if I see someone with a small post count I just assume they're like I was; but if you have several hundred posts and no avatar... I think less of you. I'm sorry, I just do.

Rarely.

I find most to be interesting in their own ways.

edit: For some reason I distrust people who don't have an avatar.

What's wrong with my Belf avatar? People don't seem to like me for it, dislike WoW if you will but the players will never all fit into some nice handy stereotype.

I don't have anything against anyone's avatars unless they're distasteful or rude in some way - it tends to lower my opinions of the user a lot.

The best avatars ofc are easily recognisable as that user, makes me remember if I've talked to them before and what their general attitude was like :)

I don't really have any negative bias towards an avatar but if someone's avatar is of something I like then I tend to think of that person and their post in a better light.

Any variation on Trollface. The reasoning behind that should be clear.

I don't have a problem with anime avatars, although I feel the same as the OP when it comes to Loli avatars.

If you have a moving avatar, I cannot skip over your post. I guess my attention is drawn too it so I feel like I need to read your post since I've already noticed it. Not that I ever just skim a thread before posting or anything like that...

And people who dislike pony avatars make my avatar sad. Not sad enough to change it, but still.

Nah, not really. No avatars bug me, but lack-of avatars do. I remember people by their avatar more than their name usually so when someone doesn't have an avatar I feel kinda like I don't trust them in some strange way.

On a side note, I wonder if anyone has a bias to my Pulsating Vagina Monster gif that I made?
That's what that was? I saw it as an alien banging his face against a window! I'm laughing my ass off at what I thought it was now that it looks so clear to me.

No real bias, I friended someone recently for having a Alistair avatar. I just don't like the gross ones, It was over a year ago someone had something that just creeped the hell out of me.
