God rest his soul... Or something.

High blood pressure + Intense 3D visuals = £6 not well spent.

well, there are a lot of avatards out there, apparently.

Although now there's one less.
Excuse me?

This is one person. Do not generalize everybody just because they enjoyed the movie.

That has to be the dumbest insult I have ever heard anyway.

I'm going to leave it at that.

Ah.. I enjoy your pun haha
Seriously, am I the first person to come up with that, at least on the escapist?

That. Is. Awesome.

Read my earlier posts before insulting me, although seeing as you won't, my previous statement was:

Well, actually I came up with that on the spot, I've no idea if other people use it.

And have you seen [link]http://www.avatar-forums.com/general-avatar-forum/43-ways-cope-depression-dream-pandora-being-intangible.html[/link], because those were the type of people I was referring to.
Now read it, and don't jump to conclusions.

I find the amount of people advocating the use of the word "avatard" in this thread to be astounding.

I thought this was a place a person could express their interests without being persecuted for it.

Just another reason to despise the state humanity is in I guess.

was the release of avatar some galvanising event? I watched it and enjoyed it but not with any kind of attached fervour that everyone else seems to have in the "like/dislike" camps. Shame about the old guy but I suppose there are worse ways to go.

Poor guy. I guess it's just one of those things that could have happened anyway.

And why so much hate? I know it wasn't exactly groundbreaking cinema (aside from the visuals, arguably), but it was a good solid film that was enjoyable throughout.

He must have been like the guy from the Staples commercial. The one that is amazed by the price of every single item in the store. Life must have been very sad for that dude, the good news for him is that, um, yeah I don't know what the good news is for this guy. Maybe his coffin had a Avatar mural painted on it.

Wait wait. There is a stupid name for the people who enjoyed the film?
Seriously?

What ever happened to:
"Hey I saw Avatar!"
"Oh yeah? I did too. I didn't like it very much."
"Really? I enjoyed it! I thought it was a fun movie!"
"Neat. Wanna go grab some ice cream?"
"Sure!"

End Scene!

Geez, people. Get over yourselves.
You like it or you don't, but let other people enjoy, or not, the film in peace.
Sheesh.
Seriously, its almost as bad a person I knew who thought anyone who didn't believe that everyone should have a gun should be deported

Well certainly there are people who take things to the extreme when something 'new' comes out (Referring to the stunning 3D effects).
Especially when it comes to escaping their 'mundane' lives. Just Look at MMOs and drug addictions.

Although I wonder why they'd want to visit Pandora, when everything there seems designed to kill you.
You can't even breathe on the planet.
People are weird.

Anyways, your original post just seemed like a dig at people who liked the movie (I enjoyed it).
That's really what I was addressing.
Nope, I've no problem with people who simply liked it, but people who liked it that much deserve to be called avatards.
Well I loved the movie and i'm sure there are plenty of movies you love that I absolutely hate, opinions are opinions, time to grow up
