Kay, finished bio. Really hope I'm not copying a pre-existing character.

Yeah! hat was cool!
Thank you.

As a side note, I think the bio (especially the 'having Kara end up in Earth Kingdom' bit) went through about seven different forms before that one ended up sticking.

I'm in another RP, but I love Avatar and would kick myself quite a bit if I didn't at least try to get into this. I'm still pretty inexperienced though...

Name: Senji Nakimoto

Age&Gender: 23, Male

Concept: Fire Bender, somewhat known for his fire breath (He can only make it go about 10 ft, and in a very concentrated stream but when he is very angry, it tends to be bit more spread out), otherwise entirely average

Appearance: 5'10, lanky build, medium length messy black hair and brown eyes. Dark red robes with samurai armor over it. Has a scar over his nose and a dragon tattoo on his left arm.

Personality: Brash and short tempered, but is very loyal to friends and a Fire Nation patriot. Dislikes criminals.

Equipment: His armor, has a sun hat but usually wears it on his back.

Bio: Born the son of a common foot soldier in the Fire Nation military and a tea shop owner, his family was rather poor. This was not helped when his father died when Senji was 7. Upon hearing the news, he trained himself how to fight and tried to become the man of the family. He learned his fire breath through history books and trial and error. One day, when some bandits came and tried to make his mother pay them money, among other things, Senji stepped up. The bandits ended up killing his mom and accepting the challenge. Although he was able to take out several, he ended up burning the shop down. He ended up joining the military some time afterwards, and found himself in his dads old squad. He has generally enjoyed the experience but finds his tour is almost up.

EDIT: Crap, might've made Zuko. Doing it again -_-

EDIT 2: Okay, don't think he's aping anyone now... hopefully.
I think he's different from any other Avatar character. Couldn't tell you for sure, though. I do like the concept in any case -- little kid just trying to help his family makes a breakthrough on some ridiculously difficult aspect of bending (especially if that's pushed earlier in the story, IMO).

This looks interesting, so here's my submission. Any feedback would be appreciated!

EDIT: Oops, forgot to spoiler.
I'd hate to see how big this post would be without a spoiler tag on the forum.

Name: Shao Gaijin, the Nightbird of Ba Sing Se

Age: 28

Gender: Male

Appearance: 6' and of a lean build. Black hair, blue eyes, and fair skin. Wears an odd assortment of rags often associated with the city's gangs and criminal element, but not a cohesive set - that is, not the full attire of one gang, but pieces of each.

Personality: He carries himself with a sort of dignity not associated with his lowly birth. Has a very solid sense of justice and utterly despises people that exploit others for their own personal gain. He feels that his powers where bestowed upon him by fate to help the poor of Ba Sing Se by stopping the crime endemic to their lives.

Skills/Bending: A self-taught earthbender, Shao's techniques are the epitomy of practicality - while not graceful and highly unrefined, they are efficent and brutal - particularly against non-benders. He avoids fights with other benders, as he knows his lack of training is a serious handicap. Known throughout the city as an untapped talent, though he seems hesitant to take on a master.

Weapons/equipment: Carries a staff on him at all times. He uses it as an implement in his bending techniques, as a focus in creating shockwaves, as a bat to guide projectiles, and as a standard weapon, among other uses.

Back story: Being born poor in the slums of Ba Sing Se, Shao seemed destined for a life of destitution. His mother, a maid to a local crimelord, was seduced by a travelling entertainer, and left the city for good before Shao was born. Being raised alone by his mother was hard, and the day he turned seven, he was doing odd jobs around the city to support his family.

One day, however, the crimelord his mother worked for, a pudgy man by the name of Jio, crossed one to many of his rivals. They pooled money together and hired a group of mercenaries to take him down. In the resulting raid, Shao's mother was killed and Jio escaped unharmed. When they came for him, the mercenaries intended to take the boy, now only 13 years old, alive to sell as a slave. In a panic, Shao grabbed the nearest weapon he could - a simple quarterstaff - and brandished it in an effort to defend himself. The mercenaries laughed off this pitiful boy's attempt at self-defense and moved in to capture him.

In his desperation, Shao slammed his staff into the ground - and found that it trembled with enough force to throw the mercenaries to their feet! The men, taken aback, retreated, not wanting to incur the wrath of a powerful bender. Shao ran from the scene for his life and went into hiding.

He later discovered the circumstances behind the raid that killed his mother, and swore that he would take down the gangs running Ba Sing Se's slums to prevent such a tragedy from ever occuring again. To that end, he taught himself whatever earthbending he could, often with scrolls he stole from local bookstores. With this newfound knowledge and the staff he fled with all those years ago, Shao emerged at the age of 21 to take his revenge on the gangs that killed his mother. His heroics quickly garnered him a reputation as a hero of the downtrodden, and his black hair and proclivity to only work at night garnered him the nickname the Nightbird of Ba Sing Se.

Today, he continues his one-man crusade against Ba Sing Se's criminal element. Word has it, though, that he might be looking for help...
I do like the more 'superhero' feel you've given it, but is there any reason in particular why you chose his nickname to mention a bird?

Ah, that's more backstory I haven't added yet, as I felt it wasn't too relevant. The gangs he fights don't like him very much(obviously) and so have taken to trying to smear his name in the community. One of the first insults they came up with was that he was a coward because he favored hit-and-run tactics in his early days, calling him 'as flighty as a baby sparrow.'

People didn't quite buy it, but they did seize on the bird motif in a more positive way, hence the nickname.

Name: Tan Daofu

Gender & Age: Male, 26

Concept: Nomad Energybender from the Southern Air Temple.
The Energybending is essentially an excuse for him to not be a bender yet be born to Air Nomads. He can't Airbend, but since all of the Air Nomads have the ability to bend his came in the form of Energybending. He doesn't know it, no one else knows it, and he has no way to train it even if he were to ever find out. Since the bending skill centers around unlocking gates, transferring knowledge, and so on it manifests itself in a slight augmentation of his natural abilities, which is why he's so skilled at climbing and leaping as well as reading people. I don't plan on developing it in to anything special unless, somehow, the storyline directs the path specifically in that direction.

Appearance: Unlike other members of his family - all of who are Air Benders - Tan wears his red hair long, falling below his shoulders in the back and easily covering his eyes down to his nose in the front. He has a long, angular face with a strong chin and a Greek nose that's slightly larger than would be ideal. His face is rounded out with a pair of bright blue eyes.

Like most of his Airbender family, Tan's standard build is rather skinny, but his inability to bend has meant he's needed to compensate in other ways. Because of this he's ended up quite a bit bulkier than a typical Air Nomad, allowing him to get around in the very vertically constructed air temples in a halfway proficient fashion, by climbing and leaping from ledge to ledge where normally one would be expected to fly. He stands at 5' 11" tall (He'll say 6' on a good day, 6' 1" if he's feeling really cocky) and weighs in at around 180-190 lbs.

Being different from the other Nomads has influenced his fashion style as well as his physical abilities. Tan tends to take elements from multiple nations and combine them in to a single outfit, stealing selected armor pieces from the Fire Nation, long tunics from the Earth Kingdom, cloaks from the Air Nomads, and even some of the lighter clothing and waterproof boots from the Water Tribes. He's adjusted the coloring from each to fit better, and has ended up with a palette of whites, grays, and a bit of red here and there. He wears a light orange sash around his waist as a belt in deference to his Air Nomad family.

Personality: Tan is an odd mix of seriousness and sarcasm, with more than a hint of womanizing in him to round it all off. He has a tendency to be serious to the point of being cold when he needs to be, or when he's feeling uncomfortable or out of his element in any way. This is often punctuated by a well-placed sarcastic remark or subtle joke, however, revealing a lighter side to him that only pushes its way out completely when he's relaxed or in a situation that he's confident he can come out on top of, be that a fight, gambling, a game, or anything else.

His time in the Air Temples, despite not being an Airbender, has managed to help enforce his personality. He's often able to joke at his own expense when the time requires it, rarely backs down from a challenge, and can be a bit cocky at times (which helped him keep up mentally with his peers' ever increasing abilities to bend). He's become quite adept at figuring out alternate solutions to things and thinking outside the box. Although he's by no means an inventor type, this has helped him intuitively solve problems that others have struggled long and hard to even grasp, which has transferred in to his choices of equipment. His time separated from the others - time which was often spent people watching as much as fooling around - has shown him how different people can really be and allowed him to come to terms with his "disability." The combination of it all means he has a natural ability to understand and read people of all sorts.

The first time he encounters someone he may seem distant, but he quickly is able to 'figure out' a person at a basic level and quickly warms up to just about anyone. This natural ability to read people has helped him out more times than he can count in more ways than one. He's very much a people person, and has been known to use that ability to flirt unashamedly with women of all sorts.

His feelings about pacifism don't quite match up with his Air Nomad brethren. He's all for staying out of fights if possible, but if he needs to he has no aversions towards beating the crap out of someone. Still, the Air Nomad teachings have rubbed off on him a bit, and he tends to wriggle his way out of conflicts with his words if he can. If not, well, he's knocked plenty of heads together in his time.

Equipment: Tan doesn't typically carry around weapons other than a couple of knives that are more used for utility than combat and a staff that he uses as a walking stick. He carries a length of rope and a set of metal brawling gloves that he tends to wear on a regular basis both for looks and for their ability to lend an extra hand in any sort of fights he might find himself in. He's proficient in most stave-weapon combat, including various kinds of spears and polearms, a skill he adapted from the Airbender training he recieved.

Fighting Style: A variation of the typical Airbender fighting style, unprofessionally adapted to be more aggressive and in-your-face as well as more useful in combat without the help of Bending. He uses the spinning, fluid motions to chain attacks together while dodging and redirecting attacks coming his way.

Bio: Tan was born to a pair of strong Airbenders, his mother from the Western Air Temple and father from the Southern. He was raised, along with the rest of the Airbending males, travelling between the Southern and Northern Temples, but unlike the rest of his peers it was quickly discovered that he couldn't airbend. This was a unique phenomenon among the Air Nomads, and the monks weren't quite sure how to handle the situation. It sent the Council of the Southern Temple in to a bit of a frenzy for a couple days as they debated how to handle his unique disability. Tan was the first Air Nomad to be born without bending abilities in recent history. It was eventually decided that the situation would be mostly ignored, except for when the situation required addressing. Tan would attend all the same classes, trainings, and meditations that his peers would. He would be expected to master the techniques that he could, specifically those surrounding the mental and physical state of his body, and the Airbending techniques would be practiced without the benefit of the bending.

Of course, being a young kid at the time, this didn't sit too well with Tan. He felt alternatively left out and unnecessarily included in things that he couldn't do. The young boy quickly took to avoiding classes, instead taking his time to learn how to get around the largely vertically build Air Temples. During his "free time" he learned he had a natural affinity for climbing. Once he figured it out it was nearly impossible to keep him off the walls of the buildings. It was his way to compensate for not being able to bend, and therefore fly, like his peers. He would climb to the top of the temples and sit, watching the sky bison and winged lemurs soar. He never developed an attachment to any of the sky bison, likely because of his lack of airbending, but he did slowly become friends with one of the Lemurs after consistently feeding it as he brought his meals to the top of the temple. Within a few months the lemur began to follow him around the temple, and from then on it ended up being a near constant companion during his more delinquent periods.

Tan managed to get through the training, excelling in some areas and failing in others. He was never one for meditation, nor was he the kind who would sit around watching the others Bend. He took to the martial arts portions well, however, and ended up being one of the more proficient non-bending fighters in the temples. By the time he reached sixteen he was starting to become more accepted in the Temple, but despite what everyone said it was blatantly obvious to him that they weren't going to accept him as one of their own in the same way they did his peers. It wasn't anything blatant, but the oddity of his situation was just enough to make him an outsider. So, not long after his sixteenth birthday he snuck out in the middle of the night, climbing down the outside walls of the temple, and ran off along with his Lemur friend (who he never quite gave a name, simply calling him "Lemur" or "boy").

The next few months consisted of floating from island to island on a stolen Air Nomad boat - one of the very few that existed - essentially wandering. He moved consistently towards the Earth Kingdom. At one point he landed on Kyoshi Island, where he discovered that he was, in fact, quite good with words. It took him a bit, but he was able to feel out the nature of the people on the island - specifically the Kyoshi Warriors - and become friends with them (with some help from the Lemur). After a year of spending time on the island, living with other non-benders for the first time in his life, he managed to convince the warriors to give him a bit of training. It wasn't much, but he learned enough about swordsmanship to hold his own, but more specifically learned the basics of combat with the metal fans that the women used. It wasn't formal training by any means, and was more prompted by a semi-relationship he had developed with one of the Warriors, but it was enough to teach him how to adjust his Airbending fighting style to more suit his personality.

After two years on the island he moved on again - this time prompted by a breakup with a different Warrior - and continued his journeys through the Earth Kingdoms. Tan continued to develop his own styles of life different from those he had known at both the Air Temples and on the island as he travelled. He would stay for a while at a town, then move on again, never fully settling but never becoming strictly a wanderer. Tan found he was able to read people better as time went on. He managed to use that to his advantage, winning some money gambling, and generally making a good life for himself.

Now, ten years after he left the Air Temple, he's found himself in Ba Sing Se, a pack over his shoulder, staff in his hand, and Lemur walking next to him.

Note that this is my first time attempting a RP on these forums. I've been RPing in various places for about ten years now, but it's been a while since I've done so on a forum not specifically dedicated to a single RP, so it might take me a bit to adjust.

Thanks for your input, lemme see what I can do...

Name: Daiyu Tseng
Gender & Age: Female, 25
Concept: Mercenary Firebender from the Fire Nation
Appearance: Is about 5'9 with dark hair that is usually tied back, gray eyes, lots of tattoos on her arms and back, and multiple ear piercings; wears a red tunic, black pants and leather boots, as well as leather gauntlets.
Personality: Daiyu is loud, impatient, and doesn't really care what other people think about that. She cares only about her own freedom and disregards authority. She is not much of a "people person", and tends to come off as cynical, sarcastic, and rather rude. She also has some axe-crazy tendencies, often leaping into battle with blades out or flinging fire around, depending on what she feels like using at the time. She may not be a "good" person, but she does care little for the Fire Nation higher ups
Equipment: Single dao, plus a sheath for small dagger; also wears a belt with pouches on it, and straps across her back for her sword sheath.
Fighting Style: Typical firebending style (Northern Shaolin Kung Fu)
Bio: Born to a poor family in the Fire Nation, Ching Lan ran away from home when she was 16, eventually becoming a mercenary. She spent the next few years traveling the world, working for the highest bidder and doing everything from bounty hunting to piracy and engaging in some illegal activities on the way.

I'll take everything but the assassin bit, a bit toned down maybe? Maybe not a travelling circus of Acrobatic Assassins(if solely for the fact that anyone with half a brain is going to start connecting the dots if they heard of this travelling circus and the murders in a, more or less, peaceful and prosperous world, and deny them entrance at least on the basis of superstition, or going so far as conducting their own investigation into the weirdness)
Compromise?:
You can keep the travelling circus, I find that fine and all, nothing to pick a bone with there, but maybe....this is harder than I thought for some reason...it's a circus of smuggling and under the table dealings, everything up to, but not including, assassination/murder, until someone(?)that came to the circus wandered into the wrong place and Hao was presented with a choice between killing an innocent and running off with said innocent? Just an idea to get your idea bank working if it needed it or not. Otherwise I find it fine and dandy. And it's always nice to see someone with weapons other than swords for once.

I'm slightly uncomfortable accepting this sheet, because of the Energybending, and although you intend to not develop it beyond a better understanding of people unless "plot device needed" is reached, there's still the chance that you might reach for it at some point if you forget, or get desperate...or something. Another thing is that your bending thing doesn't exactly follow what we do know about it, passing on knowledge, close/open bending gate, etc.. Something I can suggest, to make the Energybending and the like a more interesting thing is to make it simply augment your natural abilities, and he is just a very empathetic person. I'll allow it regardless, except for one more thing, I'm saying that 6 feet is the tallest any of the PC or most NPC's will be. This is just to try to encourage some variety in heights around here(a bunch of 6'5" 200 lb. manly men gets boring after a few rp's, and besides this is Avatar-world and time period, 5'10" is considered being huge, 6 foot is almost unheard of at this point in time.) Love the Lemur though, one of the best things of the Avatar-verse is the wide array of animals and companions/pets/etc.

Alright, I know I used that word alot here, it looks fine, but just to let you know, I would prefer it if you'd at the least attempt to make bigger posts in this rp, making them short won't do much more than make me twitch, but it won't make it where your character meets an untimely end. Besides, I love the fact that there's more than one other female, of course.

Na, he's good to leave. He's done tons of good(people aren't afraid to walk the streets at night, for example) and local gangs are really starting to make him their number one priority, so even he's starting to feel the heat. If he feels he can do more good elsewhere, he'll leave, though he'd probably drift back at some point.

All right, but I'll compromised.

Thanks for the idea, but if I used it, I'll have to give up Chji-blcoking...and you know what? Screw Chi-blocking, this guy is strong enough not to use it, plus what the point of using it, if the character dosen't use it?

I'll start on making the changes.

Name: Hao Liu
Mayuka

Gender & Age:
Hao Male, 19
Mayuka Female, 14

Non-Bender (both of them).
Appearance:. He has ragged black hair, green eyes and lightly brown skin. Hao is 5'9 and 189 pounds, Hao main attire consist of a light clothing such as cloths shirt and pants, he often wears sandals as well.
Mayuka has short red model after a bobcat, brown eyes and light skin. Her main attire are cloth shirt and pants, along with a very floppy hat that belonged to her father.

Personality: Hao is a kind, supportive person eager to help out anyone with their problems. He doesn't worry about little things, and is willing to share whatever he have to anyone in need. Hao used to be quite jealous but after close to 9 years as an thief, he learned to appreciate life and all its different assortment of folks. Hao is also kind of an entertainer and never stops to dazzle crowds with flips and kicks (even to earn just a little money) and if he couldn't find a crowd to perfrom for, he usually steals only what he, and Mayuka needs. For combat he is serious and ready to take down his opponent as quickly-and non-lethally- as possible. If all other choices are exhausted though, Hao will kill but he will not like it. Hao is very protective of Mayuka, the young teen that was responsible for taking him out of the circus.

Mayuka: is loud but a nice girl who simply looking for acceptance. While she is often snarky toward people, she often put in charge of the mini-shows that Hao performs and is the showman of the duo. She is extremely guilty of Hao's abandoning his lifestyle to save her from being killed, even though Hao insists that it was a good thing.

Equipment: Technically speaking, Hao is a pacifist but was well-trained in the art of combat When he was an thief, Hao commonly used escrima sticks as his main weapon of choice. The escrima sticks are long grey metal sticks that are 28 inches long. Hao often makes sure to keep the sticks with him, they are worth a few gold pieces in certain places. He also have a knapsack that holds clothes for him and Mayuka.

Fighting Style: Hao fighting style requires quick, and fluid movement. In combat, he prefers kicking and evading his opponent with bending and contorting his body. He often try to off-balance his opponent by sweeping their legs from underneath them. When he encounters an Bender, Hao will sticks(no pun-intended) with the Escrima-fighting style. Environment plays a huge role in how he fights as well. He is less inclined to inflict more brutal methods out in the wilderness.

Bio: Hao Liu was born into a large earth bending family, composed of four brothers, five sisters eight aunts, 14 uncles and 32 cousins. When Hao was seven, he realized he was incapable of actually bending; all his siblings could bend the earth, why couldn't he? Hao was then considered to be "cursed" by his cousins and avoided at all costs due to their belief they could lose their bending as well. Determined to get his bending back, Hao left his village and set out to end his "curse."
In spite of his very young age, Hao managed to survive on the road(mostly by stealing others food and money) and made it to Omashu (which considering just where Omashu is, this is simply being ridiculous.). During Hao's search for a healer, he encountered the circus that will changed his life.

The circus was maintained by Wei Long, a charismatic showman that convinced Hao that his search would be fruitless; instead, Wei asked that Hao joined his circus as an Acrobat stating, "In here, everyone is Family!"

Hao soon joined Wei's Family Circus and began his training as an Acrobat, it was soon discovered that Hao exceeded at the training and soon put into the actual purpose of Wei's Family: To become an thief. While Wei made money with the circus, his real source of income came from using his acrobats to sneak into areas around a city or village and steal from different individuals. Hao decided that he's better trained hard for it: After all, they're his family.

Close to nine years after his start at the circus, Hao had grew into an excellent performer but an even better thief He learned while performing that people had loved ones: friends, family and connections. Whenever the circus would perform, people would gather all over and pay the paltry fee to see them, despite the circus robbing them blind, Hao enjoyed the attentiom

One night, Hao returned from a raid, Wei was waiting for him. "We have a problem." He said as he escorted Hao towards the storage. The storage was where they place the stolen items from each theft. When Hao reached the back area, he saw tied up and gagged was a teenage girl, sitting on a stool.

"I found her sneaking around earlier tonight, we can't have witnesses to our...activities. I'm sorry, " Wei reached into his jacket and retrieved a curve knife "but we will have to depose of her." Hao eyes widened, and interjected:

"You can't! Someone may come looking for her-"

But Wei interrupted "I interrogated her earlier, she's an orphan and was simply trying to come along with us, but I'm afraid she found our family 's secret first."

"Then why can't we just take her with us? Like you did with me!" Hao pleaded.

"...because she too old to be train like you! Don't you think I want to prevent this!? "

"There must be a way to...what if I leave the circus and take her with me?" Hap reasoned. Wei shaken his head.

"No. You shouldn't have to give up your life here because of this accident!"
"Well, what do you teach me? 'a great thief doesn't kill, but improvise ' I take her with me, that way I prevent the circus being busted while keeping her alive. It's the only thing I can think of right now.

Wei signed, and sat the knife down on an box. "You have till morning to gather your stuff, Hao." Wei turned to the girl, "You should be thankful Mayuka, I'm giving up one of my best performers for someone such as yourself."

That night Wei given Hao a large bag filled with gold pieces, and bid him farewell.

Extra bits: Hao Liu name is foreshadowing of his role: Liu can be read as "Kill," or Capture." he used to kill his opponents, but he now prefer to capture. His first name actually means Very clever"

Hao is based on Nightwing, and Eddy Gordo: Nightwing in the appearance and mannerisms, Eddy Gordo in actual combat.

Even though I never said it in the actual bio, Hao fighting style is basically Capoeira and his practice with Escrima sticks (Kali sticks) are an additions with this.
Despite Hao used of the weapons, Escrima sticks CAN kill if handle correctly.

Since I have to change up Hao's bio, I'm now basically remaking him into Iron Monkey. Mayuka was Redryhno idea, and I simply taken the ball and haul ass with it. Mayuka was based off of a weird combo of Asuka Soryu/Rei Ayanami from The Evangelion series. Unlike Asuka, she considers Hao's a brother figure.

There you go, but I have to give Hao a sidekick because of the changes, Thankfully, she's more of an talking animal companion (unfortunate choice of words) then a a brand new RP character, so act as if she just an extension of Hao who is willing to say the things that Hao won't.

You got it. I'll adjust the height to something more within the time period. The reason I went 6' 2" was because the extra bit would help him with climbing, but that's not a big issue. And I totally agree on the manly men part.

As for the Energybending, I like your augmenting natural abilities idea. I was going off of the whole soul-combat thing Aang and Ozai did and extrapolating that if you can get that close to someone's spirit it would make sense that reading them from a distance wouldn't be far-fetched, but I'll change it around to what you said. And you've got my word nothing more will become of it unless you guide it that way. You're the DM, right? So if I get out of hand feel free to ***** slap me into submission. The entire idea was, as I said, more of a way to allow him to grow up with the Air Nomads without being able to Airbend.

Edit: Fixed it up. Let me know if that's alright or if you were thinking something else with the Energybending.

Name: Monsin Shimono
Gender & Age: Male, 53
Concept: Airbender (now "rogue") from the Southern Air Temple, wandering performer

Appearance: Monk Monsin is a very happy man. This can be understood just by looking at him. His skin is light, but shaded from a life spent in the sun. He is shaved bald, as the tenets of his order command, but dons a wide-brimmed, bluish-gray hat, with a crookedly-set coned top far too tall for him. He wears the robes of his order, though over the years he's tailored them to suit on on the road constantly. His outer robe sits more as a coat and cloak combined, resting over a student's set of clothing. All of the orange in his suit has been dyed gray, though the wine-colored sections have been left as they were.

His face is lined, though not wrinkled just yet. His forehead has several creases, and his laugh lines are very pronounced. His nose is larger than usual for his fellow monks, and makes him appear comically jovial in comparison to the stoic natures of his brothers. His old lips are thin and drawn into a very happy, closed smile. His ears are a tad large, and his gray beard stretches halfway down his ribcage, with only a modicum of effort loaned to keeping it well-groomed.

Personality: As is to be expected, as a former monk, Monsin is peaceful and generally in good humor. His senior, Gyatso, more than rubbed off on him however. He was very playful, and more fond of an afternoon spent with his pipe than any prolonged period of serious meditation. He is dedicated to the codes of his order, though he is willing to bend them for reasons he finds worthy. He shall never kill, though if a family offers him a meal, he will oblige them no matter the ingredients. He has spent much time on the road, and has come to seek hobbies that are practical in his travels. He is an avid watcher of wildlife, documenting all he sees in a large scroll he carries with him. He also has a growing collection of flowers that he collects. One preserved specimen of every species he finds.

Though he does not fancy himself a tutor, he is more than willing to impart his wisdom and knowledge to anyone willing to receive it. He also prefers solitude, or at least smaller groups. Not a preacher, he prefers a relaxed setting, smoking his pipe or enjoying a meal as he explains his ideas to his "students".

There is a graver side to Monsin that only comes out when discussing the policies of the Fire Nation. Through his meditation, he has grown closer to the world. He has heard the cries of the people, and of the earth itself. Grave times are coming, and he is fully aware of what it will mean. He imparts happiness to all that he meets, knowing that he must let them savor those times. Let the children taste a bit of joy, before it is cruelly robbed from them. Perhaps, even he might share a little bit of that joy, as well.

Equipment: Nothing but his clothes, a sack full of food, blankets, and basic travelling supplies, and the glider staff all airbenders use. The fans on his are colored a simple earthen brown. And, also a flying bison if that counts.

Fighting Style: Tends to be less acrobatic than other airbenders, preferring simple but efficient movements resulting in a rather glorious display of misdirection and evasion when dealing with melee combatants. His control of air is also far more minute in its focus than others, using combinations of smaller blows to achieve the same thing as a larger, but more unwieldy strike. Where Monk Gyatso might have recommended a sweep of air to topple a man, Monsin would prefer to blast the air from his lungs with a directed burst of air towards his abdomen, then a quick strike of wind at his ankles tripping him.

Bio: Monsin was born and raised in the Southern Air Temple. One of many children alike, he was taught to embrace the code of the monks. Others chafed under the stress of their restricted lives, but he where others found red tape, Monsin found a tool to think outside of the box. He found a love for nature, joining the other boys on their flights through the sky and feeling a double boon from it. Below, peeking through the clouds, he could see true nature. The mountain range spread out beneath him, and the ocean past it. Far beyond, he knew the other nations were there, waiting for him. But he would never reach them.

As he grew, and joined the ranks of the monks proper, he befriended a senior monk, Gyatso, and the two of them spent much of their time meditating and talking together. Though Gyatso loved his life, he knew his friend did not. Monsin yearned to see the word denied to him, and he spent much energy reminding him of the merits of life at the temple. In Monsin's mid-thirties, he could be resisted no longer. Monk Gyatso insisted that if his happiness was to be found beyond the temple, then he should go and find it; though, he requested as a personal favor not to forget all he had been taught.

Monsin left with his flying Bison, Sab and the two of them flew, bound for the Earth Kingdom. As soon as he hit the ground, Monsin began to wander. He roamed from village to village, city to city, spreading whatever peace and happiness he could, however he could. He would use his airbending to perform tricks, ranging from grandiose displays of power to wow the senses, to the simple shtick of a rotating circle of beads. The Earth Kingdom gave back, teaching him the ways of pipe smoking, a habit that became a defining trait of the old monk. He fought rarely, but the few times he did established him a reputation of a great defender. Those who would harm the weak would surely meet the roaming Air Warrior, who would drive off all threats to a village before sitting down with his charges for an afternoon of tea, smoke, and good humor. He became something of a legend among the outskirts of cities, and the more remote villages, and they always anticipated his visits, treating him like a founding father or a long-lost brother come home. But as the years ticked by, those he grew closest to, particularly the children that he nurtured and watch grow, saw the heavy burden on his heart. He knew something that others did not, and seemed to be waiting. For what, they could not know.

Um... thanks? And don't worry, I'll try to make my posts a bit longer.

Name: Chi
(looked up names, decided Vietnamese name meaning 'branch' would be apt)
Gender & Age: Female, 18
Concept:Foggy Swamp Style Waterbender (and to some extent Plantbender)

Appearance: Petite, with wild shoulder-length hair contained in two pigtails. Typical earth-kingdom appearence but with blue eyes.

Personality:Laid-back, easygoing, unfamiliar with urban environments/technology but very interested in it (despite often misunderstaning things). Slow to anger, but god help you if you do upset her!
Edit: Found a pic of an outfit
http://images3.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20101230131605/avatar/images/3/34/Femalefoggyswamp.png

Equipment:Spear (often used as a waterbending conduit) Can be thrown, jabbed, or used to deliver and block blunt melee attacks).
Blowpipe and darts
Coracle (tiny one-person boat, worn on the back when not in use)
Vines

Fighting Style: Prefers sneaking around before striking, often sniping with the blowpipe to daze opponents before moving-in. Uses plantbending for camoflage (think ghillie-suit rather than swamp monster) and vines for aerial work and tripping/tying up opponents. Doesn't know how to icebend yet.
Can heal using plant knowledge rather than using waterbending, but this is more suited for curing diseases, poisons, pain-relief, and cleaning wounds rather than healing wounds directly. Also has a knowledge of various poisons, which she uses in her darts.

Bio:
Grew up in the Foggy Swamp Tribe as a hunter. Chi could waterbend from an early age, using it to power her coracle through the water. Though some of the older tribe members wanted her to become a healer considering her skills wasted on hunting, she instead used these skills to augment her hunting, learning to create poisons and allowing her to occasionally patch herself up on the move. Her knowledge of botany made her wonder if her waterbending could be applied to plants.
Aged 14, after a particularly intense pursuit, her coracle had become caught-up in plants. After unsucessfully trying to dislodge it with waterbending, she discovered she could bend the plants instead, allowing her to disentangle the boat.
She continued to develop her plantbending skills, which led to her feeling a greater connection to the world around her. Sensing the greater lands beyond the swamp, aged 18, she decided to leave the tribe to explore the wider world.

I'm interested if you have the space.
Nope, not too late to submit a sheet, not at all. Go on ahead and post one, I'll tell you exactly how OP and stupid your guy is and then we'll have a fun time of it anyways.

Alrighty, it works, and they may or may not need healing as this thing goes on.
Thanks. I figure even if the healing isn't needed for the group, it might help in dealings with other people. Plus, the original idea I had would've been redundant. Is there anything that could use elaboration?
