In light of Movie Bob's current article about the career of M. Night Shyamalan's career, and reading over the Avatar The Last Airbender, I decided to spell out this mind blowing twist. Here we go.

Are you familiar with episode 57 "The Ember Island Players"?

In this episode, Aang and company watch a poorly done rendition of a play based on their adventures. From getting their names wrong, to poor casting, this play has everything messed up.

But therein lies the twist. The M. Night Shyamalan movie, is actually a movie adaptation, of the Fire Nation play!

You're welcome.

Everything all makes sense now.
Deep down, everyone knew that film was not a rendition of the actual events of the animated show.
No, it was just a parody of some sort. An expensive parody, yes, but without a doubt based upon a cheap, flawed, "live action" bit taken out of the two dimensional plane.

Thus, the movie cannot be described accurately as "bad" because it's in all actuality very good.
The end goal was to imitate and surpass the lack of quality in the Fire Nation play.
They succeeded, and by George how did they ever succeed. Millions well spent.

Unfortunately, the Dragon Ball Z live action movie doesn't have an explanation that can excuse it. The Hercule show only covered the Cell games, not Piccolo.

My god, this information has shaken my entire being to its core and destroyed everything I thought I knew about the world.

Nothing will be the same again.

Whoa. You're brilliant. This is even better than when I figured out that Twilight is a fanfic of some unknown book I've never heard of.

Isn't Twilight a fanfic of the Sookie Stackhouse books?

You're welcome for the hope!

If I remember correctly, Sokka says something along the lines of "The effects were cool, but the story was a mess."

Alright, I don't know you so I really can't say what all you have to live for...but "suicide-by-M. Night movie" is a HORRIBLE way to go!

Found it!

Prince Zuko: That... wasn't a good play.
Aang: I'll say.
Katara: No kidding.
Toph Beifong: Horrible.
Suki: You said it.
Sokka: But the effects were decent.

Well, the effects were decent. If I were a kid I would totally have thought it was cool movie.

I'm just dreading the inevitable hollywood live action One Piece movie.

In fact I shudder at the very prospect of such an atrocious act being comitted.

ok, but problem:
The fire nation play brought tears of laugher.

the live action movie just bought tears.

----
((though i didn't actually mind the live action so much [not as much as the live action dragonball], aside from the usual gripes and it just trying to fit to much into too little time))

For some reason I am not really surprised. I always imagined he kidnapped the Ember Island Players and forced them to act in the movie.
