Avatar: what do you think of it?

Probably the best 3d in a movie so far (At least in what I've seen anyways)
Apart from that everything else is bad

I am looking forward to Avatar 2: humans return and nuke the planet from orbit
and gentlemen it shall be glorious

The 3D was good and it was an absolutely gorgeous movie. I just wish that it hadn't been the most predictable thing i've ever seen.

It was decent tho it was pretty much carried by its visuals. The plot wasn't brilliant and was predictable as hell, a few things pissed me off but it was not so bad that it was a deal breaker. I enjoyed it and would watch it again.

The CGI was beautiful, the setting was great and the action was fluid and mostly epic. However, the character were boring, the story was cliche' to the max, the Na'Vi were just downright unlikeable and way too pretentious, the actual creatures of Pandora looked stupid and the movie was just a way for James Cameron to show his beliefs of environmental issues which just distracted me from the movie.

However, quite possibly the worst thing about the movie is that now I can never talk about "Avatar: The Last Airbender" without actually saying the whole name instead of just "Avatar", because everyone always assumes I'm talking about James Cameron's "Avatar"...

...and that gets really annoying after a while.

Actually this is pretty much the same plot as Dances With Wolves and The Last Samurai.

Oh, I meant "unoriginality". I hate hearing the "dances with wolves" argument because many popular and well produced media can be strongly linked to other pieces of work. It's the execution and its total inability to create something new.

I thought it was ok. The cgi were amazing but the plot was not so great.

I thought the world that was created was very pretty and well made. Imaginative too. The characters could have done with some work (actors were good though) and the story was a bit meh, but it was overall ok. Nothing special in my opinion.
