AVENGERS 2:AGE OF ULTRON

So I guess it means that we'll be getting Hank Pym and perhaps Vision, since they are connected with Ultron? Could one of these characters be the character played by Vin Diesel?

I'm pretty happy with Ultron as the villain :) What about you?

I found links... in Spanish.

[link]http://www.espaciomarvelita.com/cine/sdcc2013-anunciada-la-secuela-de-los-vengadores-avengers-age-of-ultron/[/link]

They basically say Marvel announced the title and they'll start work on the movie in early 2014.

EDIT: Wait, I found it in English.

It's straight from the San Diego Comic-Con. Whedon confirmed it a few hours ago. Links can be found anywhere. Ign, latinoreview and pretty much every nerd culture website. The escapist will probably have an article on it soon.

Well you can understand my hesitation. It could very well be a joke without sources. I mean I could say its called Avengers: Death of a Hero but without confirmation from a source it seems fake.

OT: I am not excited about the title Age of Ultron. Mainly because Age of Ultron was one of the worst events Marvel has done in recent years. I mean Ultron the main villain of the event doesn't even show up until the last issue. Heck a fifth of the entire event took place in a world were Ultron never lived. So yeah I'm not a fan of the title. I'll wait until I hear more.

Sure, no prob :)

Just to clarify, the film will not adapt Age of Ulton. They just used the title probably because it sounded cool and because it relates to the villain.

So I guess they're saving Thanos for the inevitable 3rd film then?
Apparently, from what I hear from San Diego Comic-Con, they pretty much confirmed we'll see Thanos on Guardians of the Galaxy first. He'll most likely be the main villain on Avengers 3.

If that's the case, then I'm really liking how all the films in the Marvel Universe are cross referencing each other so far. It really ties the films together and give a sense that they're based on comic books.

I guessed that they're saving the biggest threat to the Avengers for the last of the trilogy. Marvel was already planning a movie based on the Ant Man comic series, which was where Ultron first appeared, so it was logical that Ultron would come in sooner or later. Considering the buildup to the Avengers, Ant Man is probably going to come out before Avengers 2 in order to give an early introduction to Ultron first.

i suppose its possible, i mean they where hinting at vin diesel playing the giant man, and im pretty sure hes the guy who built ultron (could be wrong there).

makes sense if it is true that means lots of robot so they can have another family friendly epic fighting scene again towards the end.

Well regardless of how it was done in the comics, this story will go the way that best suits JW
Everything else in the Marvel Cinematic Universe has picked what best suits the interpretation

First I have to say, FUCKING CALLED IT!!! no really I did back it 2012.
Second I am so glad to hear this, I always thought Thanos was too big a villain for the second film. the only way I can think of getting bigger than Thanos would be Galactus, but that obviously cant happen (FOX owns that character).
The progression of Avengers villains seems a lot better now.
First the threat was foreign, then terrestrial, then a God among Gods.

Vin Diesel as Ultron.

I am more excited for Guardians though as it seems quite unique.

Upon thinking about it this makes sense. It's be ridiculous for them to go straight against Thanos without a stepping stone like Ultron. Anyway I can't wait for Vin Diesel as Ultron finally returning to his calling in life, being a robot.

This makes strategic sense from a story telling perspective.

Think about it: Thanos is a Cosmic level threat--he's a guy who wants to wipe out all life in the universe just to please Mistress Death. I know that I can't be the only one who caught the double entendre in the reveal clip in The Avenger's credits where the Lackey says: "To challenge them-"--meaning humanity--"-is to court death." And Thanos turns and smiles.

Court "Death", get it?

The movie makers need to build up to that kind of threat level. Ultron--when well written--is the Avengers' worst nightmare because they can't ever be sure that they succeeded at killing him and worst of all every time he comes back he's smarter and tougher than before because he's a robot whose primary programming is to allow him to grow smarter.

Non-comic book readers can identify with the kind of threat Ultron represents thanks to the Terminator movies and series. And Ultron predates the Terminator so no one can accuse Marvel of copy catting the idea of sentient robots gone wild.

This is a smart step towards increasing the kind of threats the Avengers must deal with. Trying to cope straight out of the first movie with the kind of threat level Thanos represents would result in the Avengers getting their heads snapped off and handed back to them. Thanos is just that dangerous.

Ultron is less dangerous--but in a real way he's the Avengers' truest Nemesis.

Wait? Are they're jumping the gun abit? I mean isn't the current Marvel story arc (or is it upcoming) is also called Ageo of Ultron? Granted the movie storyline is probably different to that comic story plot but why not called is Rise of Ultron or would that confuse people with Rise of the Silver Surfer?
