Well this certainly changes my perspective on GI's review of the game, you make it sound so much better (Great even) to my ears. I doubt I'll ever get it though, money's tight and all that. :(

It is a long rant. I personally consider a review to be an objective reporting of a game's content relative to other games content and taken in to perspective of the target audience.
This is an opinion, or a series of IMPRESSIONS if you will, of a demo that clearly states "pre-release code" in the opening. So of course this is not a review, I am not sure what gave you that indication.

I have only played as an Alien and Human. No predator for me.
-Alien: Fast paced and frantic, mostly because of the limited health and the fact that its a free for all. So many times i have been scared shitless by my own tail when pivoting around. Wall running is fun and the shakey camera is easy to get used to. Stealth kills, though cheap, feel very nice to pull off. Being stealth killed by another Alien isnt as scary due to the fact that you normaly know that its coming.

-Human: Played as once and suprisingly did very well. The health stims are nice between each engagement and the flashlight, though weak, reflects off of the Aliens shells. The Assault rifle can easily kill an Alien or predator. That said, when an Alien sneaks up behind you and pulls off a stealth kill it scares the living daylights out of me and causes me to scoot away from the TV slightly. Oddly I was never killed by a predator as a human. The radar only adds to the 'oshit' moments. Seeing three different contacts all around you with the constant 'beepbeepbeepbeep' realy got me nervous.

Im probably gonna rent this game for the online [sub]Team deathmatch please, I dont want to be killed by my own species[/sub] but due to my general dislike of horror games/movies i wont buy.

Oh I will have to disagree with you Steve. It's not a review but my own impressions in context with what the general public seems to think.

I liked it. It reminded me of an old mod for half life called Natural Selection. NS had two races, marine and alien. However, once I started comparing the two, I found that Natural Selection was going to ruin this game's chances of grabbing my interest. After four or five games, I've grown tired of being the alien because the alien is so similar to the first alien life form in NS. They can both leap, attack, bite, climb on walls, see through walls, etc. The similarities are nostalgic, but off putting at the same time, because NS also had a complex game to game leveling up system, including upgrading and evolving into more bad ass aliens with completely different attacks and play styles. It just seems like alien will get repetitive on AVP, since I'm used to the diversity that NS offered. I also flat out suck at being a predator.
So personally, I'm not quite sure if this is a game for me or not.

However, it is definitely a solid title and I'm hoping it'll get good reviews.

I actually really liked it and the death animations were awesome! But then there are people who have figured out how to cancel them, whats up with that?

I don't want to sound mean, but this isn't really a review, or even a real a collection of your own impressions. After reading this all I got out of it was 'Other people are lame and I am a better, more open minded person because A. B. C...' It's just the way it reads, and the way you use the term 'people' comes off as really pretentious.

They are my impressions relative to comments I was hearing about the demo before and after it was released. I tried it for my self, and formulated my opinions about the game, and why the lashing it's getting from most is not deserved, and why it's unsound in it's critisism.

If the demo in any way reflects the final product, they will need to change:

-The overall game speed. Everything feel way too slow.
-The combat. In reality, when you get hit, you stagger around. In a game, you shouldn't be completely unable to look at your attacker to try and fight back.
-The insta-kills. They either need to be completely removed or a reward for a kill-streak.
-The Aliens need their pounce back. Just a personal preference.

I don't understand... slow compared to what? Remember this is DM with only 8 players.

This is true.

You can't stop a stealth kill (Where they get you from behind), but you can stop a trophy kill. Plus people will learn that when you do a stealth or trophy kill out in the open, you will most likely get shot. Especially when working in teams.

They have it, you just need to use the right key combination (Focus Key + Attack I think, plus being aimed at the person you wish to pounce).

Slow compared to the first two AVP games, and I really think the game should be about speed. I still think that the insta-kills should be removed. It's just not any fun respawning with an Alien or Predator behind you. Maybe this wouldn't be so bad in a team-oriented game mode. And do they really have the pounce? Because it seems like I have to jam down 20 keys just to attempt it. It needs to be simplified.

I hated how you couldn't aim down the iron sights as a marine. Their only advantage is range, yet they can't exploit it.

I liked your style of writing, are you always going to start with "people..." just because I felt it worked quite well because you do highlight a lot of general feelings (in my opinion) of the gaming population so the use of the word "people" was both correct and justified.

Personally I think the speed is ok, pred legging it from a marine will get away fast enough, a chasing alien will run that pred down.

If bug running was any faster you'd loose the plot wall running o.0

Hold focus on an alien and you'll notice the edges getting some what distorted, when in range for a pounce a green ring will appear around the cross hairs.

ADS is kinda pointless if you have a horde of bugs running at you, or see a flicker of a sprinting pred...Plus the Pulse rifle has enough ammo to spray in panic/rage, and it's accuracy over range isn't that bad. If you want to ADS just pick up the scope.

I don't like DM myself but it's a way to get everyone to try the classes - But not play them to their strengths.
Though it seems that alot of the people that I've seen slating the game are too used to 'vanilla' fps' (CoD and such).

TK/SK's are ok from what I have seen of them - Only time I've been had by them is when I lost focus of my surroundings, if your on your toes you should avoid them.

So far the demo has just whetted my appetite for the game even more!

In my opinion the game doesn't compare to the 2001 AvP2, but maybe it's because I spent so much time on the multiplayer of that game. Don't get me wrong, this is a very nice game, great atmosphere, tons of fun. The only problem i really had with it was the "grab" kill system, i have played matches in the demo where it's a bunch of people in a clusterfuck mashing x(360) in order to get that insta-kill; it's a novelty feature that gets old real soon. Other than that, it's a rent for sure because I have to save up money for Bad Company 2 :)
