Hey guys. Well, my fiancee and I are expecting a baby boy in late March, but we've yet to decide on a name for him. It's such a chore wading through baby name websites and huge lists of the same dull names. I thought I'd turn to the forums of a few sites I enjoy and get some feedback from the folks out there. Being as you're all gamers, and characters often have pretty epic names, I suspect you guys can come up with some interesting stuff. We don't want something real traditional, but nothing far out in left field. Here's a quick list of some of the things we like and have in mind:

Edgar, Levi, Fredric, Spencer, Daniel, Victor, Vance, Gabriel, Xavier, Silas, Brand, Bron, Reuben, Grey, Dorian, Tobias, Kai, Rhys, and Gideon.

That's a relatively short list of some of the things we like. If you guys want to help out with any suggestions, please feel free. If you want to suggest a first and middle name, that's great. If there's a name you see up there you like, let us know. All feedback is welcome.

Thanks!

Name him something badass and historical. Like Augustus. Or Hannibal (you can call him Han!).

Discarding that idea, do what us Jews do and name him after someone in your family; that's always nice.

Hmm...Gideon jumped out at me.

Keep in mind, anything that you name him, it's probably a good idea to have it be easy to make into a nickname.

Tobias is an awesome name, i have a friend with that very title. While more uncommon names are very poetic, they do genuinely become stale very fast.

it could be good to give him a mildy eccentric name, which can be made into something normal.

Just don't name him something that later in life it turns from being cute to just stupid. Like what most celebraties name their kids.

Out of that list I like Dorian the best, it just seems to be a good baby and adult name.

Wow I really like those names, I'm totally stealing them when I get the chance.

I would personally name my son either Aiden or Marcus.

Beat that?

Lets see..

Edgar, as in Allan Poe?
Levi, knew a guy from school called that, thug from birth (not saying thats down to the name).
Fredric, you German?
Spencer, bit old fashioned I reckon.
Daniel, good name yeh.
Victor, bit old fashioned but its ok.
Vance, as in Lance Vance?
Gabriel, as in the angel?
Xavier, there a football for Liverpool called that.
Silas, from the Da Vinci Code?
Brand, as in Russel Brand?
Bron, sounds like a robot.
Reuben, quite nice actually.
Grey, if he has mousey-brown hair it'll end in tears.
Dorian, as in the fish off Finding Nemo?
Tobias, bit old fashioned.
Kai, Hai Kai, sounds asian.
Rhys, Welsh are we?
Gideon, very old fashioned.

Altogether a pretty good bunch of names you got there. Daniel, Vance, Xavier, Reuben and Kai are the stand outs. Of course this all depends on the surname!

Tobias Jeffreys for example would be a great name.
Xavier Brown would sound stupid.

Some more for you:
Male:
Viggo
Dionysus
Pentheus

Female:
Eva

Name him Leman, nickname him Russ.

Because then it's nerdy origin is hidden, and he gets and awesome name to boot. My official vote, as it were, is still for Tobias. It's really not eccentric at all, but still versatile enough to please the ear and charm the mind.
