We all know that dinosaurs are AWESOME. No two ways about it. But I want to know what all you think. What's the awesomest dinosaur, and why is it awesome?

When I was younger, I always liked the look of the Ankylosaurus.

Seemed like it would do pretty well in a fight as well.

Being a fan of Paleontology, I have to say that I love dinosaurs. Triceratops, are by far my favorite herbivores. For carnivores I have to go with the Giganotosaurus.

EDIT: Why it is awesome. Well this is most a memory of my childhood, but I remember clearly to have seen an image depicting a Triceratops fighting a T-Rex and winning. In fact I find all ceratopsians awesome.
Giganotosaurus on the other hand is the best predator I know of. T-Rex is great and all but there is still debate if it was really a predator or a mere scavenger. Giganotosaurus is bigger than the T-Rex but its design leaves no doubt that it was a predator.

I always like Stegosaurus because of a trip to the natural history museum when I was about 7. David Attenborough was there doing signings for a book about penguins (which I have) and he asked me if I knew what dinosaurs was on his tie and I was like "Come on David, even a fool would know that's a Stegosaurus!"

Ankylosaurus is also my favourite herbivor, and the way it was speculated how it could kick T-rex ass was great. Wish to see a real T-rex skeleton damaged by the blunting attacks of ankylosaurus.
My favourite carnivor is allosaurus fragilis.

I'll go with the obvious and say T-Rex but I always preferred Turok (more like TuRAWK, amirite?(rhetorical))

Anyway this may either offend or excite some of you http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Primal_Carnage

Stegosaurs were always my favorite. I don't know why, I guess I just dug the aesthetics of the plates alternating along the spine and culminating in the awesome tail spikes.

Protoceratops WILL F**K YOU UP!

Slightly off-topic, has anyone played the board game called "Survival Or Extinction"?

I always use Protoceratops. It has the WORST stats, but feels so very satisfying when you out-compete someone using deinonychus or tyrannosaurus.

Need I say more?
They were practically large men with wings, sharp teeth and claws.

That was the best thing I've seen in ages.

Torvosaurus. It wasn't the biggest predator around but with a name like "Savage Lizard", who's going to tell it that to it's face?
maybe this guy

May I also add, the real life deathclaw.

These set of claws are in the Natural history museum in London.
I believe that what the rest of the dinosaur looks like is unknown, but fuck me.. That's the arms of a deathclaw surely?

Anybody care to give me some more info please?

I'm surprised nobody has mentioned this little guy yet.
