Torvosaurus. It wasn't the biggest predator around but with a name like "Savage Lizard", who's going to tell it that to it's face?
maybe this guy

or some of these

How very true.

However, I reckon even most of those combined would struggle with an adult Amphicoelias Fragillimus. Especially considering T-Rex was most likely a wuss, and Spinosaurus seems more like a fish eater than major predator. That jaw wouldn't really stand up to much from very large prey.

May I also add, the real life deathclaw.

These set of claws are in the Natural history museum in London.
I believe that what the rest of the dinosaur looks like is unknown, but fuck me.. That's the arms of a deathclaw surely?

Anybody care to give me some more info please?
Possibly Deinocheirus [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Deinocheirus]?

I always liked Anklyasarus

Veliceraptors can go to hell. I don't care if they apparantly didn't actually exist, I'm not taking that risk. BE ON THE LOOKOUT FOR RAPTORS AT ALL TIMES

Stegosarus was pretty neat, though my favourite would have to be one of these guys

As for "fictional" dinosaurs, I'd have to go for the V. Rex from Peter Jackson's King Kong. I brought a book that lists all the animals on Skull Island and goes into detail. The V. Rex is just amazing.

"The terrible hand"
Now you don't want to fuck with that.

The picture spoiled it for me though... I'll still keep in my head that it was a deathclaw, but cooler.

Plus, what do experts know ey?

EDIT: Forgot to say thank you kind sir.

Those are actually called 'Dino-Riders' it was a straight to video cartoon about some space traveling people that messed up their warp drive or something and went back in time. The bad guys are aliens and they put 'brain boxes' on their dinos to control them. The good guys, or humans, just befriend the dinos.
It made very little sense to me as a kid but they toys were really cool.
I actually still have one of the little rider guys he sits on top of the monitor for my computer.

Don't worry, they have only found the arms, so the body could very well be Deathclaw like. That picture is based entirely off other members of its perceived species. We can but hope they are wrong.

I believe that Giganotosaurus would be capable of taking that beast out...with a lot of hard work since, if the estimation is correct, Amphicoelias Fragillimus was a huge beast. Since Giganotosaurus lived in the same period than the Argentinosaurus Huinculensis, he was used to fight with sauropods-

For those to lazy to google, here is an estimated about Amphicoelias Fragillimus size

If it had been abandoned by the herd maybe, but can you imagine a group of Amphicoelias? One good knock with a tail from something that big and even Giganotosaurus might be thinking twice about its choice of snack. Especially if there's maybe 10+ in a herd, which would cover an area the size of a small village..

When it's put into words, the scale really is incomprehensible.

An old favorite has always been the Veloceraptor due to Jurassic Park.

But I have to go with the Iguanadon (spelling?) I just love the way they always have a big thumbs up to give you.

Case solved. They are wrong, Deathclaws were real.
They still are, but just waiting for the death of Chuck Norris so they can rise again.

They are known to be the only creature to survive a brutal roundhouse kick, however the creature did loose both of its arms.

I know I'm going to sound unoriginal here, but seriously, nothing beats good ol' Tyrannosaurus Rex.

EDIT: Actually, Ankylosaurus is also pretty awesome. It was basically a tank.

that is true, even if the Giganotosaurus were pack hunters (for the momment just an assumption no conclusive evidence yet) they would have a hard time trying to brake into a herd of those things, however as most pack hunters, they would probably go for the weakest one, or the injured one, left behind by its herd.

Well giganotosaurus is not the largest carnivore that existed, spinosaurus takes that title. However it was the only one clearly prepared to hunt.

Speaking strictly within the confines of the dinosaur family of animals:

giganotosaurus, he was a big son of a gun.

Any prehistoric life,

The gorganopsid.

Indeed, but even so the sheer size of those monsters would make the Giganotosaurus stand back a little. Just look at the way Lions hang back from most Zebras, and they're nearly the same size as them! Amphicoelias is a good 5 times the size of Giganotosaurus.

Sadly, the two almost certainly wouldn't have had the chance to meet. Although they could have hunted Argentinosaurus, which is still a good 30 meters long.

It's not really a dinosaur, it was a bird that lived around the Cretaceous, but I'd say Confuciusornis, just because it's named after exactly who it sounds like it's named after.

If I went with an actual dinosaur, I'd say Deinonychus, because Paleontologists believe it was significantly intelligent for a dinosaur, and actually exhibited pack-hunting behavior like wolves. It may be just me, but I find that fascinating.
