Actually I've had pretty much no problems with vista whatsoever, except when I try to play older games. Which I don't have a lot of LOL. I've heard Windows 7 does better with older game compatability, however. Though by the time I have enough money to spend on an actual desktop computer, moving on from this laptop, it'll probaly be something other than 7 XD
X-COM: UFO Defense. After hearing Noah "The Spoony One" Antwiler rant about how the upcoming game is a "BETRAAAAAYAL," I decided to get the original off of Steam. I'm happy I did, as it's quickly become one of my all time favorite strategy games. I've also reached the conclusion that Spoony's assessment is right on the mark.
The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker and, The Legend of Zelda: Link's Adventure.
The former I bought at gamestop a few months ago when I associated with them but didn't play it too much since the beginning segments are so long and tedious. I gave it another shot and since I had stuff unlocked and ready to go I ended up getting sucked into it for about two or three days.
And since Four Swords was just made available, I started playing that. It's pretty good but then I played with my GF and it became the most fun I've had trolling EVER.
Command and Conquer: Red Alert 3. I don't usually like real time strategy, but this is just... Well, it's a lot better than most RTS, and playing the campaign in co-op is helping me get something of a feel.
The Mass Effect games (specifically the first one).
I don't own an X-box 360, and wasn't really much of a PC gamer up until recently. But Sony pissed me off so I stopped playing games on PS3, and Steam had those wonderful Summer deals and both Mass Effect games were on there for $6 so I figured I'd give 'em a shot.
Metro 2033, as mentioned earlier by TheYellowCellPhone, and Dark Messiah: Might and Magic for the PC. Audiosurf too. And, to my chagrin, I just discovered the original Prince of Persia: Time Reversing Shirtless Man trilogy. I always knew they existed, I was always assured they were good games (despite some reviews claiming Warrior Within as literally the worst game ever), and I've enjoyed them to a pleasing degree.

I'm currently playing wild arms 1 . Great game , first time i'm playing it . I played all the other ones except the original and yeah even with poor grqphics , the game is well worth playing.
Meh, I don't think I've played anything recent that I'd describe as "totally friggin awesome".
However, Gears of War 3 actually surprised me by how good it turned out to be. I beat the campaign yesterday, and it was a lot of fun. And so far I've had zero lag on the multiplayer, and it's pretty balanced.
Also, this is the first Gears of War game that I've played through and NOT wanted to punch Marcus in the face for being a grouchy meathead, which is definitely an improvement.
Also
Carmine SURVIVES!!! WOOT!
Only problem with it is that the ending cutscene could've been better, and Dom should've been the main character. Hell, ANYONE in that game is cooler than Marcus.
I only a few weeks ago really got into oblivion. Not great in my opinion but i can definitely see why people love it. Also the Deus Ex series in general. Playing Human Revolution and loving it. The old ones went completely under my radar.
Morrowind. My only experience with the Elder Scrolls came from a bit of Oblivion on PS3 a few years ago, which I really could not get into. However, the gameplay demo for Skyrim looked interesting, so I bought Morrowind and Oblivion on Steam, and I'm absolutely loving them both now.
King Kong The Game
It's the most immersive, cinematic game I've ever played. Surviving Skull Island is a consistently terrific experience. You're not a superman and have limited ammo, relying a lot on spears and sharp bones to find off dinosaurs and natives. Atmospheric and intense, it truly is an amazing game. Despite positive reviews it's almost unheard of.
Torchlight. Just started playing it for the first time about a week ago. What a great little dungeon crawler. Wish there was fucking multiplayer, though. Blows my mind that there isn't.
