I've been on a Between the Buried and Me bender lately... but Iron Maiden is always a staple in my playlists.

...it might just be because I agree with the guy's politics, but I think he achieved a crazy amount of variety with this project as well.

It is all a little bit less metal, and more vocals-heavy than SOAD, though.

Fair enough, I see Serj's solo work as another part of SOAD myself. I'm just in awe of the amount variety they have on offer all things considered. Orchestral, Metal, electronic, hip hop, acoustic etc. I maintain that everyone will find at least one song by SOAD they like since they do have such a variety musically and lyrically.
