This is what my friend was like when his "limited edition" arrived.

Then he spent 6 hours bitching about how much bs was in the game. Im so glad i didnt buy it.

I liked it. It's good commentary on obsessive game-players and a critique on how pumped up on the game some Halo fans actually are. (Namely, too much.) If you don't like it, that's fine, but I think this is good satire.

Oh man, it made me chuckle. Still not as good as the other videos in the Awesome series, not by a long shot.
This is the fairest comment I've seen so far.

I don't see how this is bad, i'm not a huge fan but I remember seeing other of this guy's videos, and this is a nice portrayal of hype and fanboys, even if it has no story. But lol seriously guys, you get let down by flash animations? It's a short video and it's funny, it's not like someone gave it an Emmy.

I sigh with disdain when I realize this is how I, and all my fellow Halo compatriots, are viewed by the rest of the world. Because apparently if you become excited by the release of a new installment to a game you were eager to play then that makes you a crazed drooling horny borderline sociopath.
In that case, so to are the fans of Valve eagerly awaiting Portal 2.

Seriously, I hate that these stereotypes exist, especially that it had to be for the franchise I love so much. As it stands it's pretty crazy and kind of amusing in a really messed up way but it doesn't take long to realize that it exists for the sole purpose of insulting the Halo community and in so doing receive a lot of attention because all you have to do is rag on Halo and people gather from miles around to cheer you on.

I mean I understand that it's just a joke and I understand that it's all for fun but truth be told, I am quite sick of being the butt of millions of jokes like this.

.... Sorry if it came across like I was insulting anyone, it's just that this is too weird and it makes me quite bitter.

Come on, Vrex, it's definitely not the people like you who are the target of these jokes, now, is it?

The video's amusing and doesn't really target Halo fans specifically. It's a joke about eagerly-awaited games in general.

If it makes you feel better, every time someone references how much the Modern Warfare 2 community is the worst thing ever, I get pretty sad, too.

OT: Seen it already, found it really amusing.

...what?

That's not funny, that's torture.

Edit: I mean, I understand that you may not like Halo, but insult the game, not the people playing it. We aren't insane we just like the game.

Thanks for being supportive.

Still, I understand the idea that this is about any anticipated game in general, but at the same time there's no denying that there are people out there who genuinely believe that's how the Halo community is. So when they laugh at this, they also nod meaningfully at each other.

I know that's not true of all and in fact could even be an unfair generalization but still it just kind or irks me when I see videos like this selling on the unfair stereotype I as a Halo fan have had to live with for a long time.

I liked Reach but...

I can safely say I've never got a boner from playing any Halo game, or had the desire to rip my xbox apart, obliterate the disc and snort it

I actually posted this video on my facebook the day he released it, simply because, this was almost exactly how my friend and I acted when we picked up our copies of REACH (He got the 360 edition, I got LEGENDARY).

(We weren't serious about the crazy, we were just happy to finally have the damn game)

I say almost, because.....well, none of the stuff in the second half happened.

<3 me some REACH.

Well, that's what fans of polarizing video game franchises get - generalizations up the bum.

I doubt it's selling on the stereotype - I mean, it's Egoraptor, the guy's pretty well-known.

Again, just take it easy, man. You know that Halo players don't act like this, other people know it, the creator of the video knows it. Hell, everyone knows it, except for the average YouTube comment writer.

Hi-larious. It certainly went into a disturbing tangent at the end, but it was still funny.

I could see at least four or five people being like this on launch day. Maybe not six or seven, but four or five probably.

Hahaha I haven't seen an "Awesome" video for a while reminds me a lot of Gears of Awesome.
Nothing will ever beat Metal Gear Awesome though.
Egoraptor you genius :').

When i saw this i just laughed, because it's like an exgerated version of what i was like on release night for Reach (very very exagerated). Yeah it's sad that the haters will jump on literally anything to try and make out a game that you (and myself) very much like. For some reason it's all that most humans want to do, make each other feel embaressed for the things that we like.

People will alway hate popular media, mostly it's people who think that they need to be unique, so they have to hate on something to not be with the crowd. Unlucky for them that it actually puts them in a massive crowd of people that hate to much really.

I'll admit i use to be like it, i'd see games or companies that i didn't like, and would preach about how no-one should like this because it was crap. Now i don't because it doesn't matter if they like it. I just wish people that didn't like Halo would give us fans that respect to.

They won't though, we have to be told how shit and crap the things we enjoy are.

On the topic of Egoraptor, his Ninja Gaiden video is one of my favourites, after Metal Gear Awesome of course.

It's alright, mate. I know the feeling as a fellow Halo fan. I can guess the video's content without watching it, but I know I'm not anything like those caricatures. The only people that are going to equate that with the Halo community, are trolls and assholes whom do it regardless of content.

Egoraptor will never do anything as good as Metal Gear Awesome. But at least he'll never do anything worse than Awesome Cracks Down because that was an embarrassment.

I don't know what I just saw, but I know I don't want to see it again.

Also, I'm a Halo fan, but I don't come anywhere near this, I'm currently living in a house with three other Halo fans, none of whom acted like this when they brought Halo: Reach.

I have never heard of this guy before, but if all his stuff is like this, then I suppose it's always better to be warned away from something early on.
