I would post Another Century's Episode R and it's 11 minute promotional video but all of the youtube posts have their sound muted due to the fact they have Acid Black Cherry's single in them. I recommend watching it on their official site as it has Code Geass, Full Metal Panic, Overlord King Gainer, Gundams Seed Destiny, Crossbones, and Zeta, along with Macross and many others.

Also it's amazing how much better this trailer is compared to the actual game but it's a damn nice trailer.

For me, I'll probably always remember the Dead Island trailer. It has been one of the few trailers that I have been able to remember after seeing it. Just a shame the game wasn't quite as good as the trailer (it was still fun though).

Stylish, dramatic, educational. It shows badass cinematic and actual gameplay alike, even explaining the premise of the game. If a game trailer has ever been done better, I ain't seen it.

This was released literally a few minutes ago for the Timesplitters Unreal Tournament 2004 mod. It sums up how I feel about Timesplitters getting going again. It got blocked for use of a copyrighted soundtrack in almost every English-speaking country except the UK. That is...America. And Germany, apparently, outside of that criteria.


The feels...I hope Crytek lift let this mod be, it'd be a nice way to pass the time 'til Rewind.

I just recently bought the Unreal collection from Steam and oh boy, does it feel like what Timesplitters would play on a PC (and with the ability to jump). If there was a bit more focus on ballistic weapons it would feel really close (there is that ballistic mod thing but the quality there goes all over the place). Its sad that it wont come out... they should do what publishers call "leak".

OT: Really big fan of this Psychonauts trailer:

Its such a dynamic trailer, it really makes the game look like this huge adventure full of diferent stuff going on.

My favourites are still the trailers for Mass Effect 2 and Halo: Reach. I know there wasn't much in the way of gameplay there, but they did a wonderful job of presenting the worlds and the characters to us, and giving the viewer a reason to want to fight to save those worlds. The sombre, elegiac tone of Deliver Hope was particularly affecting, I thought; melancholy isn't a tone we often get in Halo games. Frankly, the trailer did a better job of making the fall of Reach feel meaningful and poignant than the actual game did.

I have to agree with you here. Both of these introduced the games excellently, and then the games actually delivered.

I came into this thread to post that or one of the other trailers. You could criticize that trailer for not showing gameplay, but goddamn it creates so much damn atmosphere that I forgive that.

I love the Mass Effect 2 launch trailer. The music for it fits it perfectly. Hard to believe the game came out three year ago already.

I especially loved The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings launch trailer as well. Love the music in it.

While I agree to the fact that the Human Revolution Icarus trailer beats them all, this clip over here performs in almost too many aspects better. Too sad that the game itself isn't something for me.

And that music ... it just feels so epic. >

But now that I finished the game I can't wait for The Witcher 3.

Agreed, it came with more then just a statue.
... well it did come with a bust. (Which is BETTER then a statue)
and all of the little goodies which I love. (Especially the dice)

I do hope they will make a collectors edition for The Witcher 3 too ... and it will be filled with even more goodies. (Personally I hope they can put another Wolf amulet in there just like the first Witcher game collector edition)

OT: Special mentions go to Assassins Creed 3 ... but that game did not turn out like that. >.>

I perfer the Warhammer: Mark of Chaos myself.


As for more recent videos I've taken a shine to the Metro 'Genesis' trailer, mainly because it consists of actual gameplay and locations while also being a 'world building showcase'.


Special mention to Natural Selection 2 and Planetary Annihilation
