Well, I seem to be diving deeper and deeper into the realms of the unknown as I expand my musical horizons, and during this process, I have found some songs and bands/groups that really don't get the recognition they deserve in my opinion. For example:

Make a Sound ~by~ Autopilot Off [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dBldNr1B0wY](alternative)
Remind Me I'm Alive ~by~ Ivoryline [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nu1T471KYPU](alternative)
Love Me ~by~ Eminem, 50 Cent, Obie Trice [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SXLbkk7Eud4&feature=related](hip hop/rap)
Cheers ~by~ Obie Trice [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R4dykPxpTwU](hip hop/rap)
The Good Die Young ~by~ D12 [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VPN-hA4qBNA](hip hop/rap)
Bad Meets Evil ~by~ Eminem and Royce Da 5"9' [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0AauzjuDh3c](hip hop/rap)
Invaders Must Die ~by~ The Prodigy [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PWlvLwLv1f4](techno)
One Minute to Midnight ~by~ Justice [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K7XTqHbsrdY&feature=related](techno)
Set Me On Fire ~by~ Pendulum [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BeOJDgAu4LE](techno)
EDIT: Los Angeles is Burning ~by~ Bad Religion [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W5WZSnZEh7Y](alternative)

As a sidenote, I live in the USA. While bands like Pendulum and Justice might be pretty big on the opposite end of the ocean, they are not very popular here. Most of the artists I posted are American though, especially the rap artists.

DO NOT FLAME OTHER GENRES OF MUSIC, OBVIOUSLY SOMEONE LIKES IT OR IT WOULDN'T EXIST.

Throw out a few personal favorites, someone on the Escapist is bound to like it too.

I always feel 13th Floor Elevators stuff is always underrated, they're from the 60's and arguably started many of the conventions that led to rock in the later 60's and 70's.

My personal favourite band that needs more recognition is therion. They blend metal with classical music and are snazztastically awesome.

Also worthy of note is this song with an incredibly sexy video

Don't tell me you aren't turned on.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T6usfaloXes Too lazy to figure out how to embed videos, but...Destruction by the Yellow Monsters. They're a very good, unknown band...to me at least.

I love how nonsensical this song is:
Probably best known for being in an episode of Buffy.

Konstantine by Something Corporate

I don't like anything else by them, but this song is amazing.

If you don't want to listen to the full song, do this:

Step 1: Fast forward to 3:00
Step 2: Wait for the solo to end
Step 3: Listen
Step 4: Now you can life your life like you should

Congratulations on your taste there good sir!

OT:
Small(ish) British group who are gradually working up a good name for themselves; they're currently touring as the main support act for My Chemical Romance.

This song features guest vocals from the lead singer of Lostprophets and is quite different to most of their work but is nevertheless very awesome.
(See if you can guess which of the singers is Welsh.)
All of them. It should be quite noticeable in the last refrain.

Goddamnit. How did I forget freaking Bad Religion? They are beast beyond belief. Hard to believe that Greg Graffin (the singer) is forty-six and still goes that all-out.

EDITING MAIN POST NAO.

Oh, and The Offspring seems to be known or at least familiar to just about everyone I know. You American?

Trans-Siberian Standoff by Viza.

You'll have to look them up because I cannot link due to youtube being blocked. But it's definitely worth a look.

No one has put Kamelot yet?

Center of the Universe - Kamelot.

Also, there's Full Moon by Sonata Arctica.
