As soon as I saw the topic title my first thought was Batman Forever as well. That had Flaming Lips, Nick Cave, PJ Harvey. It was an amazing soundtrack. But the movie was terrible.

Flash Gordon was an incredibly cheesy movie, bad acting, cheap sets, ridiculous script, but Queen did most of the soundtrack, and it rocked!

TRON Legacy. The movie was fuckin' terrible in almost every single way. But the soundtrack, oh dear god. I've never been much of a fan of Daft Punk aside from a couple of songs, but the TRON soundtrack was absolutely amazing. Favourite track is The Fall. It's so intense and epic and scream!
This is coming from a person whose never seen the original Trons, but I loved Legacy. It was my movie of the year, but then again I didn't watch that many movies in 2010. But yes, fantastic and fitting soundtrack.

I can't say I've seen too many awful movies with Amazing Soundtracks, but if I had to look:
Outside Providence
Me, Myself and Irene
Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street
Little Monsters (For Talking Heads Goodness)

For some mid/late-90's flavor: Spawn. Terrible movie, but the sound track was a whole bunch of well-regarded "alternative" bands working in pairs. Also, Lost Highway.

Definitely Rocknrolla. One of my all time favorite soundtracks, but the movie fell pretty far short imo. (I'm still trying to figure out how. The film stuff was cool, the actors were great, there were good characters, and yet... suckage.)

Damn, no actual movies come to mind. I'm not really that big a movie watcher.

I guess I could say the Star Wars prequels*. 'cus you know, John Williams, Star Wars, 'nuff said?

*[small]which I mainly disliked because of that dimwit they got to play Anakin[/small]

Can I name an anime? Revolutionary Girl Utena. Now I'm all for some Girls Love in my anime, and sword duels are cool enough, but it was just boring and repetitive. Love the music though.
