We had to walk to the nearest library, find an open computer, and dial up the internet which was nothing but green text so you could play a text based game. And we were grateful for it.

Seriously, anyone ever play a mud here?

See, I'm only fifteen, but I don't like relying on technology. Whatever happened to using or imaginations for everything? Hell, I used to re enact Thomas the Tank Engine episodes with my toys, by memory and using my own ideas.

@innerRebellion, you missed the point.
Back in my day the point missed you.

And then I had to walk 25,000 miles barefoot in the hellfire, without gravity just to find the damn thing.

Now all of you kids get off my damn lawn before I beat you kids senseless with my cane.

We had a D pad with only 4 directions, and two buttons, and we liked it.

or,

Computer games were on DOS and having a 4th color was considered "high definition graphics"

Did I get the point?

Back in my day you had to walk 14 miles uphill both ways in 14 feet of snow to get to school everyday. Just kidding, I don't remember much of my past... but I do remember that saturday morning cartoons used to be good unlike the crap now.

someone gets it.

back in my day, we had to learn the Dewey decimal system to find information, search through an entire shelf of books only to find out the one we were looking for was taken, and wait a week before it was back.

Back in my day, if your parents got you a computer for Christmas, you bragged about it for weeks.

Now a days, if your parents get you a computer for Christmas, it just means they were too poor to have a complete set of appliances in the house.

Back in my day, we wore skinny jeans because our older brother's clothes never fit quiet right.

Back in my day, the computer teacher allowed you to play computer games in class... but only if you scripted it yourself or you were bug testing a classmate's program.

Back in my day, MacPuke.init hadn't been invented yet.

Back in my day, you can't use the telephone and the internet at the same time. Also, there was only one computer in the house so everyone had to share.

There we go!

Back in my day books came in paper format not .pdf and you could read them out in the glaring sun or in a bathtub.

Back in my day (the golden age of gaming) you sometimes had to unload the keyboard driver to have enough RAM to play something especially demanding. You kids don't even KNOW what a autoexec.bat and a config.sys are, do you? CONSTANT TWEAKING NEEDED to game *g*

Oh and also i had a CPC. You know what the first C stands for? COLOUR. Not that i seen anything of that, since i only had a green-black monochrome monitor.

Fuck, i am old.

Back in my day we played Civilization 1 in computer class without having to do anything else and that was considered "learning computers"

That also is the only time I have enjoyed a Civilization game.

Back in my day, when you got a Commador 64, you had to program your own game using a magazine you bought at Babbages, and then debug it yourself, only to find out it is just a lunar lander clone.
