Was it only me, or did anyone else exclusively play Anakin Skywalker the entire time? Not that I hated the other racers. Just seemed awkward not racing as him.

I actually liked almost every racer in that game. I still have a poster for it back in my parents closet.

Nope. Anakin was actually far back in my stable of characters. I remember cycling through a few before arriving at my mains.

Bullseye Navoir players, represent! Mars Guo and Neva Kee also welcome.

What can I say? If there was one thing that was vital in that game, it was handling, and dude had the smallest pod.

Also, Elan Mak sucks. As does Ark Roos, but not as much. Sebulba sucks, too, but in an entirely different way (hate racing that bastard).

I think he was the most well rounded racer. I messed around with the other characters once in awhile but overall Anakin was easier to use.

You just had to go and dig up some nostalgia, didn't you? I always played as the four-armed asshole from the movie. I think I remember his handling and speed were both great.

I don't remember if I preferred Anakin or a different Pod Racer. Either way speeding around and dodging rocks while ramming other racers into cliff sides brings back good memories.

Ben Quadrinaros. I never played him much, and then only to hear his absurdly squeaky voice.

Even squeakier than Neva Kee, who had the same pitch range and general appearance of a gremlin.

I too mostly used Anakin because his compact pod left me with the ability to see the track ahead of me. Ah, good times. One of the few games I actually bought twice (PC and Dreamcast versions)

That name sounds familiar (bullseye), i think i used to race with him. It was an awesome game though, i remember me and my friend used to joust in the middle of this massive bowl on some asteroid. We'd basically gun it in opposite directions until we hit each other.

I don't remember any of the names or anything, but I know I did not play as Anakin or Sebulba. I'll have to see if I can find my N64 and copy of that game and see what I played.

I feel old as well :(

And I played as a alien that screamed whenever you crashed (someone tell me the name)

I was Gasgano, and eventually beat every course, 1st place, on hard... still not bored of that game.

A few of them did that, as I recall. Including Anakin.

I found it more amusing that a lot of the racers laughed when they crashed.

I didn't get to play often with friends (though one friend and I invariably raced as Mars Guo and Bulls Roor), but I remember doing stuff like that on my own. I loved that they made the levels so gigantic as to allow it.

Also, the taunts.

...damn, I'm gonna have to pull that game out, again. I wonder if it's on Virtual Console, or if I need to hook up my N64...
