This. I play as ebe exclusively cos he kicked ass. though at the time i think i chose him cos i liked the way his pod looked.

Damn, that's the guy who's name I was trying to remember! Weird, I could remember what he looked like, though...

I still stand by Bullseye, but Endocott eventually became my second.

I pretty much only played as Dug Bolt or Anakin but more often as Dug Bolt, his only real problem was the massive size of his engines.

Used to play the original game all the damn time...now, not so much.
The sequel was a disappointment to me.

I only had it for the gmeboy, but I play ed i the arcade as much as I could. There is a rather funny story where I earned the nickname pod racer from my friends older brother. I still hear about that sometimes. My favorite was Ben Quadinaros because he had four engines and since I was 12, 4 was better than 2. Thats ALL the thought I put into it.

Yeah, I stuck to Anakin- The other ones seemed weird. There was this sweet red one, and, near the end of my time with the game, I'd pick it occasionally, but there never seemed much point. God, that was fun, though.

I played it a lot at a friend's house, but I can't remember any characters' names. Shame really.

Was it only me, or did anyone else exclusively play Anakin Skywalker the entire time? Not that I hated the other racers. Just seemed awkward not racing as him.

I didn't like Anakins, the engines were way too far apart for the size of the craft and it was just nasty to squeeze into some of the tighter secret areas or even for more abstract shortcut methods. I tended to favor Gasgano, the acceleration and handling really pays off for shortcuts and such.

Edit: I also used Odi Mandrell a lot, the sheer speed that guy can achieve early on is quite an advantage. Hated playing him in multi-player though because of graphical limitations.

I would love to see this game rebooted onto the newer consoles. Nothing really changed just updated graphics.

he was the only one i could play without crashing into something every 5 seconds or going way too slow, so yeah, i mostly played anakin.

and now im reminded of the epic coop sessions i had on jedi power battles. ah....a shitty game, but damn if we didnt make it fun.

Actually come to think of it once I got Slide Paramita I never used any other racers, his pod tops out on every spec but acceleration if I remember correctly, but you don't get him until one of the end races if not the end race.

Sebulba was also picked by me a lot in multi-player against my sister just because I could set her engines on fire.

You just had to go and dig up some nostalgia, didn't you? I always played as the four-armed asshole from the movie. I think I remember his handling and speed were both great.

I kinda flipped around through them all, I don't recall sticking with any particular racer.

Also, the debug options on that game were hilarious. Fast-forwarding broke the game so hard. haha
