I WOULD be playing RIFT, but Trion's MMOs are under a DDoS siege right now. I'm so into it right now, that I don't really feel like playing anything else for while, but I guess I can kill a little time with GTAV Online or Tomodachi Life until the servers are back up.

Now that it's finally been on sale with all relevant DLC included, I snatched up Borderlands 2 and am having a blast exploring Pandora as a solo Assassin. So many places to see! So many people to meet - and shoot at! :D

The original Half-Life.

Everybody makes references to it and I'm tired of not getting them. Also the consensus is that this is one of the best FPSes of all time. I'm sure this game was awesome compared to it's contemporaries, but playing it today, it bores me. All of the revolutionary innovations that distinguished the original Half-Life, today are commonplace in most shooters.

Also, the story is nowhere near as good as people told me it was, and I think it's not even finished yet? (Maybe that's the reason for all the Half-Life 3 craze).

Getting back into Dragon's Dogma again. I just got the Ranger vocation, which turns you into the freaking Terminator, but with a bow.

Kingdom Hearts 2: Final Mix +
-I've been getting so many questions as to why I'm doing the PS2 version when the PS3 version comes out in a few months. Mainly it's because the PS3 version of Final Mix nerffed so much from the original PS2 version. Not to mention, it was the first ever game I imported, so it has a special place in my heart.
curious, what did they "nerf"? I really was thinking about getting back into these games again and depending on final mix vs the HD collection remakes I'm not sure which one I want to go with.

edit: should say what I am playing I suppose.

Divinity original sin: getting close to being in the final chapter of the game, loving it but I've slowed down alot in it, hopefully I get some massive free time next weekend to beat it.

Fable anniversary: got this dirt cheap for PC and messing around with it, I forgot how much I enjoyed TLC.

Hearthstone: This is a love hate relationship, I love that it's on the computer and so the game gets updates, but I hate how you have to cash in a shit ton if you want to have any chance at getting new/legendary cards. So just dabbling here and there.

In the first Final Mix, the fight against the Unknown is much more difficult because the curse move he does on you can only be dispelled by using the command window and hitting the right one. On the Final Mix HD version of the fight, you just have to hit the Triangle button at the right time. I can see them doing that for Final Mix + for KH2 because many enemies had moves like that, such as the Luxord fight and the Enigmatic Soldier fight. The use of the triangle button for the special attacks also makes it near impossible to get the Premium Cap item from the Pink Agaricus Heartless because in Final Mix HD the Triangle button not only activates moves like Ars Arcanum, but also tells your allies to attack the enemy you're locked on to. Now, you don't need the Premium Cap to get a Platinum Trophy, but I still noticed it.

ah so it's mostly meta/advanced stuff that they changed, not that I don't see your point I just was curious if they changed anything drastic that the common player would come across and how frequently they would come across it.

A positive aspect change is the drop rate seems to have been increased, as it took me way longer to get everything in the original game than in the HD remake of Final Mix. I'm importing KH 2.5 HD Remix, so I'll tell you if anything was changed drastically for that HD collection.

I just had to quote you on that, and perhaps compel you to study that sentence more in-depth.
Those, at that time revolutionary, innovations. Commonplace, ordinary, mundane, "boring" today, 16 years later.

Now, I'm no die-hard FPS fan. Nor do I feel that HL is THE greatest FPS, but it still bears thinking about.

Kudos on you for taking the time and effort to enjoy a piece of gaming history.

Well I HAVE just bought a PS4 along with a copy of Infamous: Second Son, after which I discovered that the game was in fact ludicrously short and have beaten it in like 3 days. So for want of another game to play on my shiny new system and since I felt like playing a shooter, and because my housemate already has it, I bought destiny so that the two of us can play.

I don't usually buy games at launch unless I'm really excited about one and neither shooters, nor MMOs are the kind of games that I tend play a lot, so I kind of broke a personal rule there. Plus I haven't been hearing great things about it, so I wasn't feeling very comfortable with the purchase. So far I'm enjoying it though. Not sure if it was worth 40 quid, if I were to make the purchase again, I'd probably wait but oh well. It's an activision game so the price isn't going to drop by a whole lot anytime soon (or ever) anyway.

So far, it's alright, not great, not horrible, it fills the time and the shooting mechanics are enjoyable enough to carry the game for me. I just wish there was more to the game than that. It keeps alluding to countless systems and mechanics and whatnot but in the end, all there is is the shooting.

In other news, I've beaten Dark Souls 2 and am now going through my steam library, looking for something to play. It's a large library alright, it's just that I tend to be very specific with what I feel like playing at the moment. And right now I feel like playing through a version Borderlands 2 in which the shooting and the interface and the loot system has been picked from Destiny. And while I'm dreaming, I also want it to have native Dualshock 4 support.

Destroying Opportunity as the Mechromancer in Borderlands 2. These bots are about as threatening as the droids in the Star Wars prequels!

I just finished my second playthrough of Bastion and am looking forward to delving deep into the Witcher 2.
Plus a little Blood 2 on the side. Man, that game sure is tough...

Trying to earn some Light levels in Destiny. Loving the game so far since I didn't board the hype train so all I saw of it press wise was the announcement trailer. everyone seems to bitching on how it was hyped but in all honesty it's their fault for boarding the train.

My mom asked why I always pick Rosalina in Mario Kart 8, so I've been replaying the original Super Mario Galaxy so she can watch (and provide commentary).

Currently on a Survival+ run of The Last of Us. I'm about half way in now and I think I'll give the game a rest after this play through and do something else. I only just got the PS3 so my game backlog is going to get even bigger with all the exclusives.

I also noticed the Humble Indie Bundle is about again, so that's on the books for pay day next week and I have a million games already that haven't even been installed. So I'm going to be gaming for quite some time yet.

Mostly I've been browsing through my Steam catalog, trying to dust off a few older titles, or get around to the ones that I haven't had time for lately.

Finished The Walking Dead (Seasons 1 and 2), played back-to-back to see how my decisions in the first season affected the second. The Walking Dead games I always expected to drop absolutely *impossible* decisions into my lap, and the second season hasn't disappointed. I miss the fact that the puzzle element is severely lacking in the latest episodes, however. Still, dark and heartbreaking material that I've come to enjoy from the series either way.

Been trying my hand at designing some 5th Ed D&D dungeons. Say what you will about "It's NOT THE SAME DnD!" - it still plays fairly smoothly so far; looking forwards to getting my paws on the full Monster's Manual to get some new critter ideas.

And oddly enough? Final Fantasy 7. It's neat playing it now, about 14-odd years later. While I cringe at the baaaaad polygonal animations, it still manages to hold my attention.

Guilty Gear XX Sharp Reload. Really fun fighting game I bought as soon as I saw thta it was released on Steam. I also own Isuka but the only reason I didn't de-install it from my laptop's HDD is in my avi (one of my favorite characters).

Playing the original resident evil for the first time, and I love it. I'm quite fond of the metroidvania style of gameplay, and the dialogue/voice acting is beyond amazing. The only thing that annoys me is the way you have to have an ink ribbon to save the game.
