Saints Row 3 isn't too bad either if you can get it on sale. It's pretty fun if you like screwing around in a sandbox. Not nearly as serious as the Grand Theft Auto series.

I usually play Team Fortress 2 and L4D2. I agree with the other comments about L4D vs L4D2. Skip the first since it's mostly been ported to the second.
I've been playing a lot of the original torchlight since it is now *almost* playable on linux. There's still a few game-breaking bugs, but they're working on it.

I do have a fairly large library, but these are what I play the most, since I usually don't have the time for a 5 or 6 hour gaming spree. When I do have the time, I like Skyrim and Fallout NV. Oh, and 1 tip for playing Skyrim. Once you get through the opening sequence, BEFORE you make your character, make a PERMANENT save. You'll thank me on you next playthrough/character. If you forget, you can always download a save file from somewhere.
