Just recently got back into this game, 3 days without a single victory and near constant spawn killing. I've never been good at this game, but the point to which i am sucking is ridiculous, so much so that i have to ask. Is it so much that I'm doing badly, or is punkbuster doing a lousy job and i've just been the victim of a metric ****ton of aimbotters or some such nonsense? I'm not quite ready to accept that i'm just that bad at this game as to have a constant score of 3 and 12 at the end of each round.

In my 400+ hours of playtime, I've encountered a total of 4 obvious hackers. i.e. things like 25/0 k/d within the first 30 seconds of a game, with the opposing team not even getting close to anywhere useful. The vast majority of the time, people calling out "hacker!", is them not understanding the benefits of a high resolution monitor, low ping, a high-quality mouse and a lot of practice. I'm fairly sure many of them also do not understand the difference between a real "hacker" i.e. someone using 3rd party software designed to give them an in-game advantage and people using dirty tactics like "baseraping", "spawnraping" and all manner of other things.

From the sounds of it, you just suck at the game, no offense. The only way to go is up from here and that's the most fun part of playing any game:) Either that, or you're just really, really unlucky.

I've actually done some research on this. Hacking for consoles is almost non existent. However, for the PC, it's pretty common. I got fascinated one night and got sucked into hours worth of research about the PC hacking of this game. I don't even play on a PC but it just was so interesting.

Maybe u should try to play on console...those are free of hackers...dirty tactics are everywhere, but tehre u can be sure that no 3rd party software is involved :)

There are days which my K/D is 0/10

There are days which my K/D is something like 6/6

And there are days where people keep calling me a hacker.

Usually when i'm sucking i just play something diferent for a few days.

But to answer your question, i think i've found 3 hackers.

Probably about the same size as any other game. The spawn killing has always been a MAJOR problem in Bad Company 2. The game is pretty much set-up to encourage it.

Um... That.

As bad as Punkbuster is, i haven't encountered even one hacker.

EDIT: This in on the PC mind you. Tho, my friend says that it's the same way on the PS3.

Calling this sort of practice "hacking" is offensive to hackers... These people are talentless script kiddies, who fail so spectacularly that they feel the need to cheat in play-war.

I saw something like... under 5 hackers during the 3-4 months I played the game. Banned very fast.

Say what you want about Punkbuster, it gets the job done.

Within 120 hours over two profiles and with that set to rise with my PS3 copy on order with Vietnam in the works, I have NEVER seen a hacker. I've seen ridiculously skilled helicopter gunners, anti-tank mine spammers and the occasionaly well camoflauged camper, but no hackers.

I play the game every day, saw maybe 2-3 actual cheaters. Spawn killing (I assume you mean baserape) is another matter, being a douchebag doesn't make you a hacker (if it bothers you, there's a number of servers out there that have automatic server admin set to kill/kick/ban you if you kill someone within the base zone).

That said, I do have my filter set to filter out the games that don't use PB, so I imagine anyone using cheats doesn't live long on those servers. Not to mention, PunkBuster is kinda merciless, catch you once and you're at their mercy for pretty much any game protected by it. Personally, I wouldn't fuck with it, even if I was enough of a twat to cheat in multiplayer.

As far as winning goes, you do have to look for the right place. Sometimes people will just be lazy to attack/defend and yeah it sucks, personally, I just move to another server, there's plenty of them to go around. I still find it a little dodgy that you haven't managed to win a game in days though, that's either some massively bad luck or you're sticking to a single stupid server (and even in that case, you'd have ended up on the winning side once in a while).

I think I've probably seen one or two hackers in my entire time playing, and even those were debatable. I find it if you're getting spawn killed by the opposite team, your team must've really screwed up in order for that to happen.

Every 4th server I go to, I see Punkbuster banning someone while playing. I guess there are many out there but I think Punkbuster makes a good job, there are just too many hackers with new hacks every week.
