Here is an example of So-bad-it's-good fan fiction:

John Stalvern waited. The lights above him blinked and sparked out of the air. There were demons in the base. He didn't see them, but had expected them now for years. His warnings to Cernel Joson were not listenend to and now it was too late. Far too late for now, anyway.
John was a space marine for fourteen years. When he was young he watched the spaceships and he said to dad "I want to be on the ships daddy."
Dad said "No! You will BE KILL BY DEMONS"
There was a time when he believed him. Then as he got oldered he stopped. But now in the space station base of the UAC he knew there were demons.
"This is Joson" the radio crackered. "You must fight the demons!"
So John gotted his palsma rifle and blew up the wall.
"HE GOING TO KILL US" said the demons
"I will shoot at him" said the cyberdemon and he fired the rocket missiles. John plasmaed at him and tried to blew him up. But then the ceiling fell and they were trapped and not able to kill.
"No! I must kill the demons" he shouted
The radio said "No, John. You are the demons"
And then John was a zombie.
I am in full support of plasmaed becoming a legitimate verb.

No My Immortal? Damn. There goes my suggestion. Other than My Immortal, I don't read fan fiction.

There's this really bad Avatar: TLA fanfic you might like. It's not as bad as MI, but pretty close..and the best part: it's a comic! So you get both atrocious english AND horrid art in one go!

Can't remember the name right now though...

Edit: How I Became Yours, that's it.

I dunno, probably 99% of all fan-fics written?

The best ones are the intentionally stupid ones.
I don't believe there is 1% good fan-fic... can you prove that any exist? Besides being so bad it's, good that is

: P
Here you go! [http://masseffectfanfic.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=fanfic&action=display&thread=10]

And there's one pretty decent Star Wars vs Star Trek one somewhere...
I think I now love you. That is a brilliant peice of writing. Thank you for making my otherwise dull day.

I never really got why people write fan fiction, If im going to put that much effort into somthing (well thats debatable) Id prefer it to be my own creation be really bad or otherwise

Thats the thing, a lot of writers use the movie/game/whatever they are basing their story on and then abandon any recognisable signs of its connection to movie/game/whatever and it degenerates into some fanboy/girl's weird fantasy which was formerly very loosely based on something.

Of course the opposite sucks as well, things like novelisations of stories and movies which are exactly like the thing they are based on get boring really fast.

Hmm, I thought I posted here, but it doesn't seem to have come up, anyway, there is this Half Life fan fiction: http://www.destructoid.com/horrible-yet-awesome-fan-fiction-half-life-full-life-consequences-66419.phtml The guy who wrote it was six years old, which makes it equal parts hilarious and awesome. As a bonus there is a youtube video narrating it.

As most of the thread has pointed out, just find a fanfic somewhere and odds are very much in favour of it being terrible.

Fanfic dot net [http://www.fanfiction.net/] has hundreds of thousands of fanfics for Harry Potter alone. You get the usual problems there: all the Sues you can think of and appalling plotting, of course; but poor technical skills usually go hand in hand, although if you like My Immortal that should be right up your alley.

Having said that, HP fanfic writers at least manage to restrict themselves to their native language. If you want to multiply the masochism I can only recommend you branch out into anime fanfiction. Naruto has slightly under half the fanfic count of HP but that's still a cool 200k for you to lose yourself IQ in.

The reason why it's so painful to read is that weeaboos don't seem to realise that actually they can't speak Japanese and they don't understand grammar and semantics (and honorifics - especially honorifics), despite what Tokyopop tells them. The resulting wapanese word salad looks utterly stupid and frequently makes no sense.

But enough ranting and let's look for ways to further compound the misery. Crossovers give an author yet another opportunity to aggrieve the audience by being terrible.

Sturgeon's Law is actually relaxed a little here. There's a noticeably higher proportion of good writing because most writers just want to do their little self-insert fantasies in a single universe, leaving just the folks trying (but often failing) to write a respectable story... and the guys who bring in their favourite character(s) to curbstomp the natives. "Rin Tohsaka takes Saber and Shiro Emiya to London, where they bump into Harry Potter currently in hiding from Death Eaters" - what could possibly go wrong?

Sadly crossovers require that the writer possess a modicum of imagination - enough to be able to consider the concept of a crossover - which is perhaps the most major barrier of entry for the average fanfic author. The most frequent problem with crossovers is unsubtle, unbroken, unsupported infodumps that provide the excuse for the plots. I dare say this is not quite the sheer unbridled awful that you're after. Might I suggest you enjoy them as one might enjoy a fine cheese - perfect for a more subtle flavour than the usual junk food fare.

If you still feel the need to supplement your suffering I suppose you could look into slash. I have it on good authority that that's pretty terrible. I can't give you any first hand experience because that sort of thing is a deal-breaker for me, and life's too short to read things you don't like (and not get paid to do so).

In all seriousness though, don't read shitty fanfiction. You might find it funny, but after a while you stop remembering how to write and spell correctly and that's alternately infuriating and embarrassing. I've lost count of the number of times I've had to stop parsing a sentence because someone's used "than" correctly for once.

Try the Bioware social site forums...?

I think some people have the heart and determination for writing fan fiction, but most do not have the writing talent to do so. That goes for basic grammar and sentence structure as well as professionalism shown in the writing process. Most could really use some vocab lesson beyond 6th grade too.

Not intentionally being harsh, but many fan fics I read go along those lines, unfortunetly.

I've actually seen some awesome mass effect and fallout fan fiction in the past, but if you're looking for bad I'd suggest twilight and harry potter. And even though it's been mentioned I simply have to post the video, behold the most horrible and hilarious fan fiction in the world.

Someone also made a parody of it, obviously aware of what she was writing, but it was a really good parody, so I'll recommend it anyway. For teh lulz.

I once read an Avatar: The Last Airbender fanfic while waiting for season 3. It was actually pretty good but I can't for the life of me remember who wrote it or where I read it. It is gone forever... :(

Anything ever written based on the Anime Neon Genesis Evangelion. This is horror on a level I didn't think could exist. I stopped reading fan fics because of that.

But seriously, every fan fic is bad. I wrote one that was 1400 pages 3 years ago, just read it for the first time in a while yesterday, and seriously wondered if I was on crack when I did it. I WROTE IT, AND I THOUGHT IT SUCKED.
I actually kinda' want to read that now, may I?

Ban fan fiction? I don't understand. You use the redundant adjective "bad" as if suggesting that there might possibly be "good" fan fiction? Are you mad? What will they think of next?

On a more serious note, just browse for through fanfiction.net and you will see plenty of garbage. Sturgeon's Law says that 90% of everything is crap. Well on those websites, you'll find that more than 99.99% of everything is crap. It's actually more of a legitimate question to find something that's actually good, because it's usually a completely shock. Yet Another Kotor Parody is the only example of quality writing I've ever seen from fan fiction. And well... it's a parody.
